PGA Frisco Trip

Headed to Frisco in November with brothers and Dad for a golf trip. Are there any great/must play courses nearby (within 20/30 minutes max) when we are there if we don't want to play East/West multiple times? Caddies aren't required but prefer to have them.

I just returned from a three-day golf trip at PGA Frisco. It's a tremendous facility. But I'd suggest waiting a year or so before going. Both courses are tricky. Tees and fairways are immaculate. But the greens were horrible. Top dressed four days prior to our arrival and the course didn't even warn us. It's a pretty bitter pill to pay $250+ a round and play top-dressed greens. Once the course matures, it will be championship worthy.

You just came at the wrong time and crappy they did not tell you about it.  The greens are fine and rolling well and fast if you watched the PGA professional tournament they just had.  

 

Courses that are close: Old American(holds a LPGA event), Pecan Hollow, Heritage Ranch, Grapevine Muni, Cowboys to name a few.

Top dressing makes the greens better. 4 days before arrival they should have been in their absolute peak.

Texas Rangers - North Arlington

[both pushing the 30 min drive time]

Tenison Highlands - East Dallas

Stevens Park [short but really fun track] - West Dallas

Bridlewood - Flower Mound

Tour 18 - Flower Mound [check to see what the greens are like before running out there]

If you are making the drive to Arlington i would put Waterchase above Rangers and Texas Star.  Might check on the greens at Texas Star as well as they have not been good of late.

 

Like the other suggestions as well i was just trying to stay a little closer but those are good options.
