Augusta GA golf

Played some really good golf this weekend in Augusta. Weather on Sunday sucked, but got 9 holes in. We played 36 on Friday and 45 on Saturday. A couple of really good meals at the course we stayed at.

Played 36 at Mount Vintage on Friday.

45 at Champions Retreat on Satruday.

Played 9 holes in a little match with some guys from Augusta on Sunday morning at The river club in North Augusta.

We stayed at Champions in the cottages this weekend.

Wow.....that is some nice golf right there.

 

I have yet to play MV but have played both Champions Retreat and the River Club and those are some very nice tracks/courses. Esp Champions Retreat.

 

Those cottages do look very nice also...

We play a Ryder Cup style match in my hometown that has become a really good match. We started taking a trip about 5 years ago to go practice and play, try some different pairings. One of the guys on the team is a member at Champions and suggest we go there for the weekend. It was a very good trip. I wish the weather would have been better as the match we had scheduled was only nine holes for Sunday.

Heading to Georgia Wednesday night. Anyone heard of these courses ?

 

Friday: Chateau Eulan (The Legends Course)

 

Saturday: Apple Mountain Golf Course

 

Sunday: Druid Hill Country Club

Yeah. I'm a member at the River Club its a great course. But I love Champions Retreat. Its amazing.

Chateau Elan, has a name but the last few years has been average at best.

Apple Mountain, is a average public track

and no experience with Druid Hills.

 

If you ever plan on coming down again, think about coming to the Athens area. We have some great tracks that will give you and the bettinardi a test.

hate to revive such an old thread but I am staying in Athens for Masters week. Any good courses I should be playing while I am down there?

If you are referring to the Athens area you should check out The Georgia Club. Awesome golf course that is always in top notch condition.

You can also run up the road a bit and play Highland Walk in Royston, GA. Outstanding state park course.

In the other direction you should check out Long Shadow in Madison, GA.

The nicest closest is the georgia club. The UGA track is decent as well with some devilish greens.
