Tourstage MARUYAMA Spec Wedges

Who needs the brown box...I got the Black!

Here are the 2005 Tourstage Maruyama Spec wedges. The word is there were only 1000 sets made and the distribution was very limited. They are made out of soft carbon 99.9%FE. The specs are as follows, 59* Loft, 8* Bounce, tour grind sole, DG X100, 34.5 inch, X Flex, C6.5, 480 total grams. The other is 53* Loft, 8 Deg Bounce, tour grind sole, DG X100, 35 Inch, X Flex, 490 total grams. The wedges are finished in black but will rust over time. Some sites have shown the catalog pic which makes them appear to look like the Never Compromise wedges, but I assure you these are all black.

These have got to be the sexiest wedges I've ever seen. The sole and heel grind are really fantastic looking. I was lucky to come across these and I apologize for the pics, but I wanted to get them up on Golfwrx as soon as possible. I didn't bother to remove the plastic because I'm not even sure I want to put these in play yet. I didn't want the rust to start forming in the humidity of the islands.

The wedges come in a black/ black velvet lined box. There is some kind of sign...with a clip on it. Probably for display purposes. Anyways......here are the pics of the "black box"! :)

The super-light swingweight makes these unplayable in my eyes--that and it looks to my eyes that they are about 180* too upright for my taste (yes, I know I just mixed my metaphors--leave it!). But they look real perdy--take off the plastic and hit 'em already. We all know you ain't waiting for the snow to melt! :cheesy:

And I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the absurdity of a display for your wedges--do they send those to everybody or just retail accounts. Wait a sec. . . HOW MANY OF THESE SETS DID YOU GET?!? :)

I knew you would give it to me about buying clubs. Thank goodness your far enough away I don't have to hear it from you in person daily! :stop: I think I jinxed myself when I "set my bag". Now my signature doesn't match my bag pics and these wedges haven't even made their way in there yet.

As for the sign...if I decided to play the wedges, you'll see it clipped to the top of my bag :drag: And I can't tell you how many of the sets I have. That would invite more teasing! ;)

You're right on that...but I have a feeling it has something to do to the extra long hosel of the wedge to raise the COG of the face. There's got to be a reason why Shigeki wants them to play so light. Personally for me...I don't mind the lighter wedges because it seems to give me a little more softer touch then the heavier wedges around the greens.

I played with a set of those awhile ago, but sold it very quickly. The sole grind was great, the feel was good, but the C6.5 swingweight just doesn't do it for me.

To me they look like a blacked version of the forged bridgestone wedge that matches the j33 combo set. Just with more stamping on the back of it, great pick up, they look great
