What do you do when your game goes away?

My golf season started around March 15th, and I've been playing and practicing pretty much everyday. I was a 2 handicap at the end of last year, played in 4 tournaments this year so far, only one problem... I haven't broken 80 yet, in a tournament or in a regular round. :good:

 

No putts seem to go in, all rimming the edge. And mediocre iron shots leave me 30-50 feet away from the pin on every hole. :D

 

So, what do you guys do when you are having a lull in your game? Do you take time off? Do you practice to the extreme? Lessons?

I do not pick up a club for at least three days, try not to even think about it. I then go and play when I can. I never go practice before I have a chance to play after taking a three day break. So sometimes it's a week or more. This usually helps. Although your handicap is much lower than mine, you do what works for you.

This is something that I would do for more than just the golf swing...Properly identify the problem, (video footage..etc)...and work your butt off until you fix it. Simple as that man, you got the game your just rusty.

No, everything is still sort of mediocre in practice too.

I'm going through the same thing as you, just keep pull hooking everything.

 

All i can say is dont give up!!!

 

I also went back to my old teaching Pro, who has helped me no-end and i've started shooting great scores again, i think this is what you should do before your confidence takes a bashing.

Same thing recently - still hitting driver well but i'm hitting pull hooks out of the toe all day long. Sometimes i just sit down and pray that it gets somewhere near the green :good:. But I found out I was getting to flat, so I've been working on that and its greatly improved...need to do a little more work and find my consistency again and it'll be all good - and i think that's all you can do - find someone to help you, work on it and just understand that it may take a little time to come back properly :D
