Golf on Maui???

Going to Maui the end of June. Anyone have any recommendations on courses? I want to play the Plantation Course at Kapalua, but other than that I'm open to suggestions.

On the other end of the island is the Wailea Resort courses, the Champions Tour just had a skins game there, a bit cheaper then Plantation ... but just as nice. Where are you staying?

I've heard good things about this course The Dunes at Maui Lani but I haven't played there.

The Bay Course at kapalua is also really nice. Best played at twilight for $$$ reasons. Here is a pic I took playing the course last year at about this time.

kapalua has 3 courses, all are quite nice but I'd rank them as follows: 1) plantation; 2) bay; 3)village.

Kanapali (sp?), down the road from kapalua, also has some nice courses and plays host to the Champions tour.

Wailea has several courses and hosts the Sr. Skins.

I played the courses at Kapalua. I would agree with ASCAN's rankings.

Another I played was King Kamehameha Golf Club. It was going through renovations in July but might be done now. It was real nice.

Also, a bit of advice. If anyone is in the military and has an active duty ID card, the golf is cheap! I played the courses at Kapula for $70 a pop!

Almost all the courses on Maui gave a discount. :birthday:

Thanks for the input, guys. Staying at Wailea in a condo for a week, then going to Oahu to take in Pearl Harbor, Waikiki, Diamond Head, etc before heading back to reality! Don't think that I'll be able to get in any golf on Oahu, so will try to get my fill on Maui. I can't wait!!

I was on Maui last June, when they were renovating the greens on Plantation. I played the Bay and the Village courses at Kapalua, and the North Course at Kaanapali. I enjoyed all three courses, and I would rank them 1) Bay, 2) Village, 3) Kaanapali North.

Since Plantation is open again, I would recommend playing there....most of the courses have pretty heavy discounts for the "twilight" rates, which is typically anytime after 2:00 PM, leaving you plenty of time to finish before the sun goes down.
