I golfed today!

Just let everyone know I got out on the course today here where it was 55 today :birthday: Usually it is about 25, but we have had a warm streak. I think I shot about a million and three, but I got to swing. (okay, it was more like a 45). Any other cold weather state residents get out on the course lately?

Yeah....it barely made it to 60 deg today in the bay area. It was cold, but somehow I survived on the course. :birthday:

I played to!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great thing to play in Michigan in January. I was terrible, but had some moments. Still nice to hoof it around in the 50 degree day. Pins were in to!!!

Yeah it was crazy up here in the Chicago area, it was in the low 50s. i got a chance to play 6 holes. The course the George Dunne national was surprisingly in good shape. It was a real treat to get out in January even though I didnt have enough time to play 9.

Well yesterday we lost about 7 inches of snow and today we lost another inch but there is still like 5 inches of snow on the ground and about 4 inches coming tonight so no golf for me for awhile :)

I got to play on thur. also. :) Got up to 50 here in MI. Played the metro park course near my house, got 13 holes in before darkness ended round. Prob will be last round for awhile, cold and snowy again. :blink:

Just got done playing, its 35 degrees out, 19 with the wind chill, but there isn't any snow on the ground which is good enough for me. Cold weather sure makes the ball fly less, there's a pond at the course that is usually an easy carry and I hit the ball right into the middle of it. Luckly it was frozen and I watched the ball hop back into the faiway. Its my first time playing in January and the last couple of days have been in the 40s which is really warm for this time of year. Gotta take advantage of days like those.

We get a break in the weather in Salt Lake today. It's 53 for a high today. Unfortunately, there is snow on the ground, so no golf today. It's been a mild winter and people have been playing golf, but I missed out on it...new job and no luck on the weekends...mostly just watching football hehe.

 

I should get outside, but I just haven't had the motivation...nice to sleep a little later and take it easy anyway. The sun is breaking through the clouds now. It looks nice...maybe I'll head out to the canyon and do some fly fishing still before football. I've only been snowboarding once so far this winter. Hopefully, it will be a big powder day for next Saturday.

I've got you all beat! It was 31 degrees here and my dad and I decided to go to the range because it was "warming up"... I think they are starting to open up some of the "year round" courses so we might play again tomorrow.

Lucky you. I was all set you make my out this weekend when we picked up 5 inches of snow last night. Looks like it'll be at least another two weeks before I can play again =/.

Dont mean to be the sopiler here, but i feel sorry for you guys. I live in Australia and i can play all year round with the temp never below 15 centigrade. at the moment being summer, it is around 40deg centigrade ~110F. My heart goes out to you fellas.

 

Thanks mate...just trying to Aussie it up for ya...If you live in the frozen north, Michigan USA, you learn to tough it out or you have a very short golf season. Play well!!

I'm from around the Houston Texas area and weather here has been awesome. We have had some days of 35 and 40, but it never stayed around. Yesterday it was 68 and a no wind. I have been able to play 6 times since Christmas. I love it down here. I can't really say I have played in blistering cold weather, but I have played in weather around the 40's with 15 mph gusts. I'm sure y'all have some horror stories.

I've played a couple of times in the last week at the University of Illinois' Orange and Blue courses. Classes start up again tomorrow, so my golfing is done until the weather warms up enough so that I can't resist playing.

We've had some warm weather here in Colorado. Played 18 Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's temp was up in the 60s. :)

hit a high of 55 yesterday morning, so I hit the range instead (courses stay closed from Nov to end of March, no matter how warm it is). My driver was going straight and long, and my irons were perfect. Gives me comfort knowing that the flaws I found and fixed in my swing this offseason worked. And now, I can't wait for Master's weekend, the first round of the year!

I haven't played since end of summer, because I am studying in Debrecen (Hungary) and there is no golf course in less than a 3 hour drive... :)

I am braving out the winter in London, I would love for 50F weather. I will trek up to St Andrew's soon, when it warms up a bit. In the mean time, I will think warm thoughts :)

I know several people that got to play last week here in Central New York, but I had to work. When the weekend came around the weather tunred real ugly. I have not played golf since mid November, and probably won't get to play again until March at the earliest.

The weather has been WILD here in Maine, it's January, and one our courses opened up this weekend w/ pins. At this time of year (January!!) it is normally about 20º-30º for a high and we have about 2-4 feet of snow on the ground. This year we have had a weather pattern of snow, and then rain, and so on. This past two weeks, there has been a few days where the high has been above 50º, which is unheard of up here this time of year. There is not a spec of snow on the ground, and today the high got up to 58º, um...what!? It was crazy, with the wind and warmness lately, my mother's tulips were trying to poke through the mulch, I just hope that it continues on this pattern, because that means I will be able to get on the golf course pretty early this year, not having to deal with the snow melt/thaw. We've almost made it to February up here, and we have not a inch of snow on the ground, this is AwEsOmE!

Played today it was so cold that my towel froze (about 20*) Frozen rock hard greens. Loved every minute of it. It was 50* when we walked off 18. Shot 77 not too bad considering you couldn't fly the ball onto the green all day.

I really feel you for most of you guys! We have had one the mildest and driest winters on record. Early January we were wearing shorts. But then again up north is alot cooler during the summers. It just started to rain here, clearing out by tommorow AM, so golf on both Saturday and Sunday for us.
