I will be in boston in mid september for work and will have one friday afternoon to play some golf...which course would you guys recommend? is a tee time at shaker hills possible?

I would recommend Pinehills.

Will be staying at the Best Western Boston - The Inn at Longwood Medical. never been to boston any other things that are "must do"? i checked for sox games, but they are on a road trip the whole week im there!

I'd play Red Tail over Shaker Hills if you only have time for one round. The courses are very close to each other - only about 5 or 10 minutes apart. Pinehills is great as well but a longer drive from Boston than Shaker or Red Tail.

Second this. Shaker is nice but many of the holes are similar and don't stick out in my memory. Red Tail i keep coming back to.

I was just there on Saturday. Love playing that course from the tips.

Just got back to Hawaii from boston last night...

 

Red Tail is a great course and unlike anything i have ever played in hawaii...Hawaii has very little tree lined courses or greens that penalize you if you miss on the wrong side. Course layout is amazing, it just rolls through the terrain like it belonged.

 

I have never played on bent until this round, really liked it! wasnt too hard to make an adjustment, missed a couple on the high side...just breaks a little less than what we have in hawaii. As far as my round went, i played from the blacks...was 1-under through 13, then limped with 4 bogeys and finished at 3-over.

 

the course conditions were fantastic and employees were friendly. Thanks for the great recommendation guys!

It is a fun course. That's a great score from the tips! I just played it today - a couple of the pin positions (4 and 14) were utterly ridiculous.

 

That closing 4 hole stretch is tough. :)
