How do you think the 2008 Taylormade Burner Fairway Wood will compare with the 2007 model?

if the tour burner fairways are anything like the tour burner driver compared to the '07 burner, then i think you should wait. also, within the new tour burner fairways they're gonna have the "tour lofts" version, which is kinda like tp, but i guess they didn't want to be throwing that badge around and have it lose its meaning. anyways the tour lofts versions will have the lofts like the '07 burner tp, except these, if i remember correctly, will not have a more expensive price tag.

The new ones will be the Burner Fairway and Burner Tour Fairway woods. They're already on the Golfsmith Website. Here is what they say about the difference between the new Burner Tours and last year's TP models.

TaylorMade Burner Tour Fairway Wood with Graphite Shaft:

The 2008 TaylorMade Burner Tour Fairway Wood features Dual Crown Technology that weighs less than a typical crown. Saved weight is redistributed to give the 2008 Burner Tour a 17% lower CG (center of gravity) than the previous Burner, promoting a higher launch and higher flight for more carry and distance. Meanwhile, the fast-looking triangular shaped head permits an even lower CG placement, making it even easier to get a solid launch.

Boasting the largest size and footprint of any TaylorMade steel fairway, the 2008 Burner Tour Fairway has a 6% higher MOI (moment of inertia) than previous Burner fairway models for increased forgiveness on off-center hits.

The SuperFast shaft and Arrow 2 ultra-light grip each promote faster swing speed for increased distance.

Hey, with the news of a tour burner fairway wood coming out, I was just wondering what peoples opinions on it are. I personally like the looks of the 07' model better but it's all how the ball goes right? Anyway, tell me what you think of the differences and what your preferences are! Also, if you know anyone on tour using it please share!

TaylorMade Golf Introduces New

Burner Fairway Woods in Two Versions:

High Launch and Tour Launch

Both Feature TaylorMade's Dual Crown Technology,

Proven in the Tour Burner Driver to Promote Increased Distance

CARLSBAD, Calif. (June 4, 2008) – TaylorMade Golf, maker of the tour-proven Tour Burner® driver with Dual Crown technology, has introduced the next generation of Burner fairway woods, available in two versions: High Launch, engineered to make it easy to launch the ball on a towering, long-carrying flight at average swing speeds; and Tour Launch, engineered to promote the kind of lower, penetrating and workable ball flight that skilled players with higher swing speeds prefer.

Burner High Launch and Burner Tour Launch fairway woods share several key performance elements. First is Dual Crown technology, wherein the size of the crown is noticeably smaller than the large sole. Second is Ultra-Thin Wall technology, which allows the clubhead walls to measure as thin as just .55 millimeters. All of the weight saved by Dual Crown technology and Ultra-Thin Wall technology is redistributed to create an exceptionally deep CG location that's also 35%* lower than previous comparable Burner fairway woods, making both of these new clubs extremely easy to hit while promoting a lower spin-rate for longer distance.

mediapressreleases2008img60408_Burner_Fairway.jpg Both new Burner fairway woods feature a fast-looking triangular Burner head shape that looks large when positioned behind the ball, to inspire confidence. The larger triangular head of the Burner High Launch makes possible an exceptionally deep, far-from-the-face CG location that makes it easy to launch the ball while also contributing to greater stability and forgiveness. The Burner High Launch boasts the largest size and footprint of any TaylorMade® steel fairway wood, and its MOI measures 6% higher than TaylorMade's previous Burner fairway woods. In contrast, the new Burner Tour Launch features a slightly more compact head shape with a more forward CG location, elements that are preferred by better players.

mediapressreleases2008img60408_Burner_Fairway_Tour.jpg Both new Burner fairway woods incorporate TaylorMade's SuperFast technology, to promote faster swing speed for increased distance. Burner High Launch combines a SuperFast 49-gram graphite shaft with Arrow 2 ultra-light 44-gram grip; Burner Tour Launch combines a 70-gram graphite shaft with Tour Velvet Lite 44-gram grip.

Three Burner High Launch fairway woods are available in 3 (15°), 5 (18°) and 7 (21°) woods and three Tour Launch fairway woods are available: TS (Tour Spoon) at 13°, T3 at 14.5°, and T5 at 17.5°. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is $240 per club; availability begins at TaylorMade's retail partners starting in June.
