Need some shaft advice quick

Ozik vs. Diamana
I have a second driver shaft fitting today and I will be finally buying a shaft for my driver. I play a Nike SQ Tour 9.5 stiff(with Diamana Blueboard g4t).
The shafts in question are the Diamana Whiteboard 63 S or Blueboard 83S vs. OZIK XCON f7m2/LTD or OZIK Code 6/7 or OZIK XCON 6/7.
My issues are slightly too high launch at 15-16deg, way too high spin 4000+. Clubhead speed is about 100-105, ball speed about 150. Would either of these shafts drop my spin by a 1000rpm?
If anyone can help me, what would be the pros and cons to each shaft? I know swing is a big factor and I have been working on it with great results. I've had a couple 275+ yard drives since working on reducing spin. The ball still is a bit higher than I'd like and I could always use more roll.
I actually have two of these drivers(one is untouched in the closet) so I might get both shafts. I'd like to save a little money though!

I don't have much experience with the Matrix line of shafts but I would recommend that you stay out of the Blueboard line, even with a heavier weight or stiffer flex. Also, I would reconsider the choice of the Whiteboard 63 gram version as I just don't think you'll see the kind of reduction in spin that you're looking to obtain with that model. You'll have much more success with the heavier 73 gram or 83 gram model.

However, getting your launch and spin rates down to gain optimum distance will be a challenge. Ideal launch conditions for a 150 mph ball speed are 14 degrees of launch with a spin rate of 2444 rpm's. I'm not sure a shaft change alone is going to get you where you need to be.

Good luck with your decision.

yes and no.... the 7m2 ltd MIGHT be able to drop it down close to 1000 rpms. but if you need that much of a drop... it's not the shaft, its either the swing or the loft...

btw, just a fyi if you didn't know... that g4t has an extra inch on the tip (4" vs the 3" x5ct) which will not only make the shaft play a lil softer but will make it spin a lil extra

Dont know about all the OZIKS that you named but do know that the xcon series is just like the whiteboard diamana. They are both HIGH launch low spin shafts. I would suggest you look at another brand if you are wanting low launch. I think some of the fuji Rombax series are made low launch and low spin. High launch is a good thing though.

That's incorrect.

The Diamana Redboard is a high launch shaft, not the Whiteboard.

Thanks for the replies. I contemplated tipping the g4t shaft and yes, my swing is the main culprit for the spin. I have played two rounds with a different setup at address. The ball usd to be about 4 inches off my front foot, feet about shoulder width to prevent too much weight transfer. But after a instructor took a look at it, I now have the ball about an inch of my left toe, and my feet are about 3-4 inches wider. I have immediately hit the ball longer with more roll and more consistently(two rounds), but we'll see today what changes have occured since.

Ideally I would like to eliminate the hooks and but I don't want a bunch of flares to the right. I guess we'll see what happens.

Thanks everyone for your help with this. I messed up once with trying to put a shaft in a driver and I ruined my distance.

The Diamana Redboard is a high launch shaft, not the Whiteboard.

Ok sorry,,,, diamana website says that the blueboard is a mid launch shaft and it also says that the whiteboard is higher launch than the blue,,,, so not sure if high is correct or mid,,,, but I was told by an approved clubbuilder that the ozik xcon 6 was high launch low spin and was built almost exactly like the whiteboard, but he could have been incorrect also.

Get the Ozik F7M2 Ltd if you want a low launch/low spin shaft.

You could also go with the F6M2 if you want a little lighter shaft.

Oh, and the Diamana Whiteboard is the low launch/low spin model for Diamana. The Blueboard is a mid launch and the Redboard is the high launch Diamana.

Just about every website you go to that sells shafts,,,, big websites, say that the whiteboard is higher launch than the blueboard. Myclubmaker.com installed my xcon six,,,,, he also told me that whiteboard launched higher,,,, but these guys may not know what they are talking about.

The Titleist site has the BB's down as low/mid trajectory and the WB's as low. I have read some debating that the BB launches as high (not often higher, but some might agree who knows) and others finding the WB lower. Given the higher KP i'd think most would find the WB a small bit lower. What has been your personal observations between the two? I guessed the BB73 and WB63 to be similar in my use, but it's a bit of a guess TBH.

Per Mitz, the WB is their lowest launching shaft. HOWEVER, many have reported a slightly (I mean slightly) higher launch angle when comparing to the BB. This is a very individual thing and depends on the install as well. Also, you can't compare a WB 63 to a BB 83 or similar. Meaning, you have to compare the two model's to each others corresponding weight match. Not to mention, they would ave to be installed identically.

Probably too late for this (I didn't see this thread until just now) but PLEASE don't buy a $300+ shaft while working on a swing change. Over 4,000 RPM spin at a 100 mph swingspeed is predominantly due to angle of attack etc, not shaft, clubhead or loft issues.

There are a few things to look into though: What's the measured loft of that Nike? Many are up above 11° so check that. I prefer to set launch angle with loft, and to tune the shaft for proper release. No shaft which loads properly will drop spin by 1,000 rpm coming from a reasonably well-fitted Blueboard. I don't like the LTD for moderate swingspeeds - just too much work. I prefer the standard F7M2, probably in untipped Stiff. Go lower in loft if the F7M2 or WB still launch too high. For most players the WB will indeed launch significantly lower than the BB.

Get the swing in order first, imo :^)
