Titleist driver head (905T) .350 hosel???

How is this possible?

Hey guys,

My first post... btw, awesome site!

I bought a 905T Titleist w/ a Fuji 757 shaft from eBay with the hopes of putting that shaft into my 905S head, but to my suprise, the guy at the shop just told me the 757 tip was .350... not .335!

Can anyone give me some insight here? Is it possible to put a .350 shaft into a .335 head??? I know there are ways to do it the other way around, but what gives? Did the 905T come in two versions - .335 & .350? Did I just get duped or are there people who can modify the heads to fit .350 shafts?

Please, all help is greatly appreciated. I really like the feel of this shaft, but the 905T head just spins way too much for me... actually all driver heads it seems, except for the 905S. For me the 905S has been the only driver to give me that piercing trajectory and roll when it lands... just wanted to upgrade the stock grafalloy blue S to something a bit heavier and more stiff.

Is Joe Kwok the guy to make it happen?

Most Speeder 757 shafts will denote .350 tip on the shaft itself or on the butt sticker.

I've never seen a .350" bore Titleist head, so if it's truly a .350" tip, the sleeve might have been bored out to accept the larger shaft.

Thanks for the reply. So there is actually something that can be done? Can anyone recommend a place in the NY Metro area? Or even somewhere I can ship it to?

you would have to pull the shaft and actually measure it and the hosil to see if hosil was bored or they ground the shaft down, either way its not the right way to do it. my bet is the shaft was ground down, big no no. i would see about refund from seller

The only feesable way that I would trust it is with the faz fit system You could add a .335 adapter in the head and a .350 on the shaft. that way you dont have to weaken the shaft or hosel. however, you would have to trim the shaft down a little. Either from the butt or the tip. I personally would just buy another shaft though.

It has been reshafted, that is for sure and some body had reamed it to 350 hosel to receive that 757 350" tip.

You have to ream the other head also to be able to put the 350 tip shaft in properly.

Chunker,

If your golf shop is correct, and the 757 tip pulled from your Ebay purchase measures at .350, then the head on the 905T has been reamed larger than the standard factory hosel diameter.

Performance-wise, it makes the most sense to find a shaft weight and flex that you like and have a .335 shaft installed in the factory standard hosel, without the need to alter your head.

i think there is also a possibility it might be a fake... i bought a tm burner tp from ebay. went to put a 335 shaft into it, and much to my surprise it was 350. i checked the serial number with TM and it was a fake. you gotta becareful on ebay. always check the serial numbers. i might be wrong but you never know.
