help with shaft choices

My current driver is an FT3 Tour 8.5 with the V2 65 stiff in it. My launch is too low with this club 9-11.5. I had taken an R7TP 3 15 degree wood in on a trade with an Accra T70 M4 and I love this club, swing speed 103-104, carry 247-252. All of my numbers are measured on a GA2.

It had made sense to me to order an R7 425 10.5 bent square and have the Accra T60 M4 installed at 44 or 44.5 inches. However the club guy said its not enough shaft for me and my iron choice is was also too weak DGSLS300 in a mixed set of MP32/MP60.

I really have never played Xstiff shafts in my clubs, what do you think? I am a high ball hitter and can work the ball lower.

Is your shot placement relatively good off the tee?

My tempo is on the quick side. I do not know if the 3 wood was tipped. I knew nothing about the ACCRA line and had a TP 3 wood with stock fuji in it but did not like it nearly as much as this club. My miss is usually a hard hook. Last season when I kept stats I hit 82% of my fairways.

After reading your post:

 

On your FT 3 you definitely need 9.5* like JC said.

 

Due to your quick tempo swing, You need a slightly stiffer tip shaft w/ a slightly heavier shaft than your 65.

 

On The Ft3 I might installed tipped S flex to flex right about X.

 

But on TM head design, I would go w/ an X most definitely. I got a few tour players that i fitted on R7 425 (their previous driver was 9.5* R7)...They end up maximizing their potential w/ 10.5* and some bend to 10*. To get a better carry and hang time w/ the new low spin driver, you definitely need more loft .

I totally agree with your fitter. With a 112 swing speed and quick tempo the T60-M-4 is going to be to whippy for your. Now one thing you need to know is the Accra T-60 & T-70 actually play alot different.

The T-60 is more for a smooth swinger, T-70 will handle your swing better.

 

Heres what I would do based on your swing spec's you posted, I would go with (if money is no object) an Accra SC-75-M4 with 10 - 10.5 degree head cut to 44.25" length

 

If money is an issue, same degree head with T70-M4 cut to 44.25"

 

They will both maximize carry.
