How important is a headcover

I can trade a old L 460 that is in great shape for an Ignite that is in good shape as well but it dosent have headcover. Is a headcover a deal breaker in your opinion? Thanks

Not really unless it was like a TP headcover or some other special addition. You can find a Nike Ignite head cover at just about any retail store that deals with pre-owned equipment.

 

Just make sure you cover it up I hate nothing more than some who dosen't take care of there stuff.........lol

There isn't as much problem with not having a cover, when it comes to the clubhead. The problem is in the shaft protection. A HC would cover a ways down on the shaft and prevent other clubheads hitting on your shaft and prevents damaging it.

Yeah, I think a driver cover is not a deal breaker. You can always use a different one, Nike sells generic covers, and you could easily buy a ignite cover.

 

Do you guys use iron covers? What about for the newer bigger irons?

It's not a bad idea to use a generic headcover anyway, especially if you have a TP driver that's expensive. I use my college mascot headcover. That way nobody knows what's under there. An expensive TP headcover could cause a potential thief to target your clubs at the bag drop.

I used iron covers on my forged clubs (MP-32) for the first couple of weeks. Now I only use when the clubs are traveling...........plane or auto. I dont mind bag chatter, but on a plane need all the protection you can get.

It's an expectation for me if I have a headcover on any purchased driver. Some people aren't as picky, but if you want to more people to look at your product, then I'd get a headcover.

i use headcovers all the time. you never know the next time you turn around who will be looking at your clubs. it's a cheap investment for your expensive stuff. if possible, i get a generic headcover.....one that doens't scream STEAL ME.........less likely that someone would be interested in a set or something under those covers.

hi all:they are very important in terms of protecting your clubs.to a lesser extent they can also show off a little of your personality depending on what type you get.hope this helps
