I agree, we don't want the site to change, you guys are actually pretty good about jumping all over someone if they post something really ignorant. I do get tired of all the posts panting over the girls who are halfway decent looking in golf (and the requisite swimsuit or tight/short clothing shots), but that's the nature of boyz. I'm here because I like golf, and sites that are geared towards women tend to go too much into "social/fashion" vs. "the sport".

I enjoy playing golf with women when I get the chance. They don't have egos, they like to chat, and the ones I play with are excellent golfers. They don't throw clubs, make excuses before they hit their first shot, don't brag, boast, or befuddle. They repair their pitch marks and replace their divots. We talk...golf.

 

On another topic: I'd like to see one of the LPGA majors at Augusta National.

Darn right - you're not alone!!! I'm on this site at least once a day - not always posting - lurking mostly. I can't believe how this thread got so off track so fast. :)

 

I actually would love to know how many women participate in this forum. I'm still looking to do some interviews about women in golf and online sometime this summer. A couple of ladies from this forum have agreed to be interviewed (I haven't forgotten you - just need time between making a living, having fun golfing and doing Highway 18 interviews now).

I used to be on here every day (posting every 5 min), but now that I'm the merchandiser for a private country club and working my way to becoming a PGA Teaching Professional, I'm not really finding the time to frequent the site as much as I'd like to.

 

My favorite "room" would have to be General Golf Talk.

to follow along with the post of liking to play with the ladies, i'm the same, i tend to slow down my swing which helps me hit the ball longer, better approach shots, putting #'s and scores tend to be lower. i have nothing to prove to them, the same with them, they don't brag unless they take your money in which the have the rights and they are a lot more talkative (if thats a word).

 

on a side note played with a great lady golfer in NE a couple of weeks ago her drives where right up there with mine so it was like playing the guys (competative she was) shot hi 80s. Maybe married but would love to have a playing mate like that, showed me around the course, gave me great course tips and helped me shot below my so called handicap, i say it that way because i don't keep one.

 

if i have a girl i will be trying to get her to play golf, which in turn if she is even half decent she will be able to get a scholarship.

How do you try to pick up a golf date on an internet forum??? I know what I did to get a golf date. Went to a driving range with my gf, let her hit some balls. I then asked her if she would be interested in golfing. She said yes, I picked her up a set and gear, and we always go golfing together. When we go to the range I pay the pro there a few bucks and he gives her a quick lesson, or I should say translates for me so she understands better on what I am talking about. And now she's pretty darn good. Just bought her a new putter and a new driver for her birthday today. She's happy, I'm happy, and I don't have to go on forums trying to pick up the ladies.

My name is Lisa. My husband was telling me a bunch of stuff about equipment and I asked him where he found out his info. He told me about this site.

 

I started golfing about 2 1/2 years ago, after being encouraged by my husband. I started with a set of Miscela's and got fitted with some Pings 2 Christmas's ago as a gift from my parents and my husband. I love golf and I play most every weekend and practice a couple nights/week after work.

 

I am glad I found this site. I have read many interesting threads already!
