Callaway X Forged II irons

When i first saw them i thought they were horrible looking players club. Now there growing on me.

You have a point though, and i actually like the look of the G40 better.

 

The original X forged used to be such a nice streamlined club.

This has got classic Callaway rounded edges and everything, which makes them look bigger than they actually are. Something i really don't like about their club design.

 

I'm looking forward to the X-22 tour though :cheesy:

The pic of the cally forged doesn't realy do it justice. Saw it the other day and its much thinner than the current xforged. Didn't get a chance to hit it, also thought the x22 tour looked better as well. Not a true "Tour" iron but getting better.

two of our assistants had a chance to hit them and both said they like the x22 tours a lot better. which really surprised me. also both said the ft-iq was a phenomenal driver

 

Agreed, our First Assistant and Inventory Controller (Callaway Staffer) went to our local reps 2008/2009 info/demo day. They both said the X-22 Tours were incredible, the First Assistant is a Taylormade Staffer and plays TP R7s and said that if he ever switched irons again he would, without a doubt, go with the X-22 Tours.

As i said in earlier posts when i had the chance to hit all the new gear i was Impressed imensly. And yes word on the street is that callaway is producing a ball by the name of The I DOT ernie phil and rocco use them at them moment. with the new line callaways engineers were concerned about sound because alot of tour players werent comfortable with the sound so they made them to have more of a ting. A t the product launch we were told that the ftiq is 41% straighter than the old fti but with the old one tour stafff were coming back and sying that with there faster swing speed the ball was balloning on the thats why this model slopes more from front to back. As for the ft 9 it is as straight a the current fti is know but longer than the ft5 which is awsomr there irons are mint to a t there x22 tours are like the old x tours same head shape. bascially all the new callaway gear is awsome very different. Aslo on another note mickelson has been dropped in there advertising campaigns in favour of rocco mediate because real golf can relate to him and the way he plays thats what we were told.

I hit the new X Forged yesterday. Very nice. The sole grind has been modified from the previous version with a slightly more rounded/killed leading edge. Pretty soft. I was hitting this next to my 62 and found that for me the 62 was more solid and soft, but I was getting a little more distance with the X Forged. This was probably due to the shaft difference...even longer, I'm still not a huge fan of the PX.

Well I think a lot of what I would say has already been said but I was able to hit all of the new stuff last week and was really impressed witht he sound of the FT-9 and the x-forged. I didn't hit the 22's or the tours because I was hellbent on getting my hands on the forged and it was starting to rain on us but I was able to hit 20-30 balls with the forged and really liked the feel and look at address. They have a different feel, I believe due to the added weight thats been added higher on the back of the club, but imo were very smooth and definately something I would look into gaming.
