It is a pretty neat show. You get a behind the scenes look at all of the pro-ams these guys play in. In addition to tournaments, these guys play A LOT of golf.

Actually - I saw this last night. I saw a BUNCH of cutie-pies in that show! I had no idea - The University of Arizona and Univ. of Texas are great, but..................U of Ark? Very impressive indeed!

Went to JD's store yesterday in Russellville before making my way to Little Rock for the Stones's concert.

 

No, they don't have any of the new Maxfli stuff with his logo on it. Guy working there said it could be tomorrow or ten months from tomorrow on that stuff.

 

He also said that JD is playing some sort of R7 irons, Maxfli's Black Max ball, and (not sure if I believe this) the new TM R7 425 driver.

 

He said work was going to begin on The Lion's Den (formerly Bay Ridge Golf Club) this Summer. All new tee boxes and greens on most holes and a total renovation of the club house.

 

About that episode of TDP, I thought Johnny Lee did most of the signing of the anthem. I was there at that game as I am at all of the Fayetteville games. It was a great show and I hope to make it up the Daly Day this year at the AMP.

Ditto that. Funny how they did have a whole rack of those Black Max balls :lol: Clearly the guy working there was trying to make a sale. I didn't bite.

 

All the pics I have seen from recent events show him playing the older TM driver, that's why I doubted the R7 425 statement too.

Interesting, last night on Academy Live they flashed a graphic that had JD's WITB. It did list the R7 460 and the Black Max ball. Upon being asked about it, he said he was hitting version 1, not the 2 or 3. He said the version one was the old one and I think he said it was out last year. Hmmmm.....maybe the guy at the shop did know what he was talking about, somewhat.

 

FWIW, I hope his Godson passes on Ole Miss (old myth) and plays golf for Arkansas. He's got game and is going to the same swing coach as David Toms. He's only 14. JD said he was going to work on him coming to UofA.

I caught a repeat of Academy Live late last night, and JD was his usual great, affable self.

 

His godson is already a very good golfer, it will be interesting to see where he goes.

 

They also showe an EXCELLENT drill last night! I'm speaking of the "three-swing" drill, where you swing twice over the ball, holding your lag, then hit the ball on the third swing. I tried it last night with a practice club (albeit without actually hitting a ball), and I really felt my hips clear and the power generated by keeping the lag. I'm playing McCullough's Emerald in A/C on Thursday, I think this tip will really help me!
