Honestly the ProV line and the Tour I line have killer spin, and are ultra long

 

I hit a ProV1X longer than a Pinnacle off the tee

I play the tour i because it launches higher, cuts thru the wind, and is more consistant with distances than the ProVx

It seems from the various testing done in golf magazines the high greenside spin balls have managed to also be very long. You pay for it at $45/dozen though.

 

If you can find the 2008 Golf Magazine(?) ball test it shows all the premium balls to be within a few yards of the rocks off the tee, but with 3-4x the spin around the green.

Your reference to the 2008 Golf Magazine feature on balls is the exact reason I switched to the E5+. They kindly broke down handicaps by increments of 5......0-5, 5-10 etc and then indicated for each group of 5 which ball from each manufacturer you should consider playing. I'm in the 5-10 range so I looked at every single ball in the 5-10 handicap range and found that the E5+ was the only moderately priced ball that was WAY up there in spin rate. I had more spin rate than the Burner TP and NXT Tour (other moderately priced balls) and ranked right there with the Nike One Black, the lower spin ProVI and others. I highly recommend that anyone looking to find the right ball get this Golf Magazine Feature. The only other cheap purchase (the magazine itself) that was worth its weight in gold more for me was the $10 headphones I bought @ the Ryder Cup @ Valhalla. There were two stations....NBC and the BBC. BBC was awesome to listen to. At one point, Mahan was on 15 and hit a recovery 3rd shot to the green. It was a good shot but got little applause. The BBC guys commented on their surprise how little applause it got. Immediately, a loud roar erupted and they said "we betta not say dat agene, dey hurd us."
