Nike Tour Red vs. Pro V1 / Pro V1x

Compare?

Currently playing Nike Tour (red pack, not the Ds).

I have a line on the new pro vs or 1xs for a great price.
But, the Nikes have been fantastic for me. The Ball is stopping on a Dime and have no distance complaints.

My question is is it worth even trying the Pro Vs? I know they are all the rage and I've obviously played them before.

Any comparisions?

Hey. I'm an avid Nike player, ever since the Tour Accuracy came out, Nike is the only ball I play. The 2009 Nike Tour is a fantastic ball, that's why Tiger Woods plays it. It is the highest spinning ball out there too, which is great for spin control. And obviously there is no distance concern with the new balls either. You have no reason to switch to the Pro-V1 at all if you get results with the Nike Tour. I actually still play the Platinum from time to time as well.

I agree, I cannot believe how good they feel. And my game is finally to the point where I can feel the difference in ball quality.

I'm going to stick with the Tours. Did you try the Tour D? More distance, less spin? Even the Vapors are impressive.

I love the Nike ONE Tour, what you are calling red. Best spin on the market, drives are still long and straight. Shortgame is amazing with them though and that's why I play them. They are not as soft as the Pro V1 but destroy the ball in side by side comparisons. Every player is different and you should try a sleeve of the Pro V1's out for comparison. The spin is not close to the ONE Tour which is why I made the switch. I have played Pro V1's since they came out but finally got sick of the performance not being what I wanted. Loving the Nike ONE Tour. Just picked up another dozen for tomorrow's scramble and will play them the entire round I am so confident in them.

Just curious, to you Nike Tour Users, how is the spin off the tee box? I would imagine it

could hurt you off the tee..

The Nike Tour is the highest spinning ball out there so it can be a bit of a hindrance on miss-hits. But I've never really seen any decline in distance on miss-hits from last year's Platinum to this year's Tour.

Problem is that last years Platinums were markedly shorter than other comparable balls. However, I must say I just tried the Tours today and really like them. The thing I liked most is that it seems to be MUCH more durable than the V1x I was using. One pured wedge shot with the V1x and the cover gets scuffed up pretty bad, didn't experience that at all with the Tour today...and yes, I did hit some pure wedges before anyone asks! I noticed it was a little shorter than my V1x.

My one question is this, is the Tour D the equivalent to the V1x?

give the tour d a try. i think it is very underrated. i did not care for the NOB but the tour d is a big improvement.

The One Tour for me was just as long as the TM Red LDP and the Cally Tour ix. I know that doesn't directly answer your question but my point is it has to be close because the overall distances in my experience have been very similar to other balls out there. One thing I have noticed with the ball however is it is very easy to work the ball with a driver. That is important to me because when I try to force shots with the big stick it usually isn't pretty. And as mentioned the short game with these balls is unreal.

I have played Nike balls since their inception.

They have always been shorter than the Titliest...that I know but also have always been more consistent in their yardage reliability.

The dispersion rate of the Nike tour and tour d is significantly less than the Tiliest..so if exact yardage is important to you..they are the balls for you.

I personally play the tour d as I dont feel as though I need the extra spin that the tour provides...but both great balls.

Since you've played all the balls from Nike and now play the Tour D, how does it compare to its predessor, Nike One Black '08? I'm still finishing off my last couple dozen of them, and wondering if i should restock at the discounted price OR start on the new Tour or Tour D.

Just a heads up, pretty much eeryone has the new Nike's (Tour 's and Tour D's) on sale--2 doz for $59.95!! I just picked up two boxes of the Tour D as I was playing the '08 Black. Cant wait to try em out.
