I'm in the same boat, I'm just waiting for the Hibore to get here and if I don't care for the launch/spin/look I'm getting a J33 460 because I love the j33 3 wood I'm using right now. once i get to hit the club i'll let you know how it is.

I depends whether you want a low spin head with low launch or high launch. Both the J33 460 and the HiBore are low spin, but the J33 launches low whereas the HiBore launches high.

This is exactly right, so why everyone is talking about 10.5 and 11.5 drivers is anyones guess !!!

I have a Hi-bore with V2 arriving the next day or so, and have had a love affair with my J33 460 for a few months now. Hopefully I will have some comparison by the end of the week. Every other driver I have put up against the Bridgey has been a woeful failure, including the 905R, so fingers crossed !!!

i play the 460 now and just went to a demo day and hit the HI-Bore, i'd got with the HI-Bore 10 times out of 10. the ball seems to just launch hi and stay up forever, extremely long and ratehr forgving as well. this is IMO the best driver out right now bar none.

papichulo, what did you think of the loft on this? did you have to go higher/lower than your current driver and what shafts did you try?

I have hit both and IMO (with the correct shaft) the Hi-Bore is hands down a better driver (longer and definitely more forgiving). I truly believe the Hi-Bore will be the club of the year !!!

Got to hit the Hi-Bore (my reshafted one) and the stock and the Bridgie at a tent sale/show. THe Hi-Bore was much more forgiving and accurate than pretty much anything out there and I own a reshafted SQ (which I may be selling). The reshafted one went farther than the stock. Can't say if it went farther than the other shaft options that Cleveland has, but I like this driver ALOT with how I have it configured now.

DRIVER:  Callaway Rogue ST 10.5

FAIRWAYS:  Callaway Rogue ST 3, 9, 11 Fairway Woods

HYBRIDS:  Callaway Big Bertha 3 Hybrid, Rogue ST 4 Hybrid

WEDGES:  Callaway Jaws Raw 50 S Grind, 54 S Grind, 58 Z Grind

PUTTER:  Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas

BACKUPS:  Odyssey Toulon Garage Le Mans Tri-Hot 5K Double Wide, MannKrafted Custom, Slighter Custom

BALL:  Testing

A man has to have options!

I was at the demo with papichulo and he used the 9.5 which is the same as the bridgestone he use. He also hit it with teh aldila NV 65g. I was wondering why everyone keeps talking about a 10.5 and 11.5 because there is no need to go up in loft. I play a 9.5 right now and im starting to get on the high side so i am going wtih a 8.5 hi bore with a diamana 83 gram stiff. The 9.5 was pretty high for me, not quite ballooning because it did carry a long way. It had a 240 carry wtih crap range balls and into a strong cross wind. So i decided to go down with a 8.5.

In my experience with the Hi-Bore, I see no need to change the loft from your current set-up. I have always played around a 9.5* and this loft works perfectly in the Hi-Bore. I have heard people say they changed their loft one or even two degrees in the Hi-Bore. From my experience, I do not see the need for a higher or lower loft.

Pingshack et al,

Interested in the HiBore myself so I was wondering what driver, shaft and flex you played prior to getting the HB? Also what is your swing speed (est?). My swing speed is about 92+ MPH and I curently play a R7 HT with 9.50 in a YS6+ Stiff shaft and am looking into the HB V2 probably in Regular flex but can't decide whether or not I should go with a 9.50 or a 10.5 degree loft. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well, having just returned from a range session with three drivers, I am now down to two. The 905R just doesn't do it for me, even at 8.5° and with a stiff Titleist speeder, still sent too damn high  .

So, Hi Bore 9.5° with factory installed V2 65 (45") in stiff V Bridgey 460, 9.5° regular speeder 652 (44.5"), neither are tipped, swing speed when last measured 100mph.

Firstly, those looking to follow the hype of increasing loft because of the low spin need not bother. The Hi bore is a good 30 - 40 feet higher than the Bridgey, even with the Bridgey and the regular Speeder, it just goes straight up in the air.... but then flattens and just keeps going and going :idhitit:

The height I was attaining with the Hi-Bore was simply stunning, but gee the ball flight was piercing. Hit a couple of cuts, a few draws, but the favoured shot seemed a slight fade (my stock is a draw).

From what I could see before the darkness made it difficult the distance was very similar, the bridgey was remarkably lower and not as hot off the face as the hi-bore. I will await a course test before I decide which stays. I am now confused but hopefully this will clear over the weekend.
