Scotty Cameron Laguna 2.5 Studio Stainless

I just got this from eBay. You can see the very light milling job, which raised a red flag. A lot of people on cameroncollectors.com said it was legit. I want ot here from you is it FAKE or NOT FAKE!!!

If you look at the milling, it's very fine. I thinking all Cameron's had intrusive milling. Such that you can take a fingernail and strape across the top of the milling and it will get caught in between the crevaces.

Too many James Bond movies, I am afraid. The coarseness of the milling is simply dependent upon the speed at which it goes through. I have several Cammies and they are all slightly different. You just bought a great putter. In fact, I just put the same model on my rack, courtesy of my older brother. He bought it off of eBay and didn't like the feel. So, we did some wheeling and dealing. He took home some odds and ends, I kept the Cammie. Life is good.

HoleinOne18, looks like you're right, here is some pictures that help me sleep better at night. You can't even see the mill markings in this putter.

If you question its authenticity then why buy it? It seems like to went about this the wrong way?

Well it's water under the bridge. Many experts say it's authentic so that's that. I bought this putter out impulse on eBay without seeing pictures. It was my dumb fault. I have now done my research and nobody seems to be speculative over it's legitness, so why should I. The guy I bought it from is a very good seller. My first reaction was the milling job, but most Studio Stainless models contained very light milling in 2003. I've read the article, "Speed and Feed", this answered everything. I have learned a valuable lesson from this experience and now I'm better for it.

Even if the putter is fake, I dont think you would be able to tell even if you did see the pictures of the actual putter online. The only way would be to handle the putter in person. BTW, if the putter is fake, thats a pretty high quality fake.

it might be refinished which would or could take out some of the mill marks

Not refinished, 100% stock milled retail scotty cameron studio stainless 2.5 laguna. Stock grip, stock shaftband, stock. It's alllll stock.

I guess I am just confused by the question. Fake what? Were you concerned it was a overseas knockoff...oh wait, I think that model was made overseas. Anyway, what would be fake about it? Usually counterfeit golf clubs are easy to spot even at first glance.

 

Just watch out for putters stamped Scotty Kameron ;-)

dunno that does look strange both that one and the link provided on one of the posts. I personally have never seen a stainless withouth the deep milling. I know mine has em and there are alot posted on here and all of them have it.... maybe its just the lagunas??

Of all the putters to fake Why make a fake laguna 2.5? Thats like making a fake cleveland 588 & selling it on ebay. It would cost you about $10,000,000 to go through scratch, Pay them to make a wedge with a cleveland logo & then sell it for below the cost of an authentic 588. Quit smoking doobies dude, they have made you too suspicious. :crazy:
