I'm 6'4" and I like to stand tall at address. I see DJ's clubs are only .5" longer, but I'm thinking even longer. So, is anyone else - including DJ - our size using longer than .5"+?

Im just over 6 feet and was fit for .5 inch longer 2 degrees upright.. What is "standard" these days though... Titleist and Callaway irons are both 1/4 inch longer than TM and Ping off the shelf!!

That's what the websites say, but I was comparing lengths of Ping s56, Nike combos, TM MCs and Callaway Razr x forged in a shop yesterday. They were all the same!!!

Some may measure to the end of the shaft and some may measure to the end of the grip being the reason that it says they are different lengths.

Well I'm 6'1" and actually have my irons at a 1/4" under standard. The way lengths are assessed is by arm hang vs leg length meaning that just because you are tall doesn't necessarily mean you will play shafts that are longer then standard lengths. I know guys that are much shorter then me that use longer clubs then I do because of the way their arm and leg lengths match up.

I have longish arms and average length legs, and at 6'-0", I play "standard" length irons and I play my woods 1/4" to 1/2" under standard lengths (not talking about the driver ... my 3-wood is 42.75" long and if I carry a 4-wood instead of the 3-wood, I play that club at 42.25" long). I actually prefer my driver to be 44" to 44.25" long.

I have been a Professional Clubfitter/Clubmaker for more than 25 years, and I have customers as tall as 6'-6" who play "standard" iron lengths (e.g. - 37.5" to 37.75" 5-iron, and 35" to 35.25" wedges). On the other hand, I have a customer who is just about 6'-1" tall who plays his irons at 3/4" over standard length. As an earlier poster commented, it's all about arm hang and the distance from the wrist to the ground at address. The 6'6" guy has ultra-long arms (he says he has to custom-order his dress shirts to get sleeves that are long enough to fit him).

"Back in the day", I fit may professional athletes, including a few NBA players. One power forward that I fitted had his irons built to more than 4" over standard lengths (his 5-iron was 42" long and his wedges were at 39.5"). I didn't personally fit David Robinson (former San Antonio Spurs Center), but I know the clubmaker who did the job. He said that, due to Robinson's need for clubs that were either 6" or 6.5" over standard length, all shafts and clubheads had to be custom-ordered to get the necessary raw weights, lengths, and shaft flexes.

I'm 6'5" and have a relatively normal stance(not too tall or squatted) and arm length(wtf 39") and I'm at +1". They fit very well, I felt like .5" I was slouching, and 1.5" was too long, especially in the long irons. Dustin appears to have very long arms, so 6'4" and +.5" doesn't seem abnormal.

I'm 6'3 with pretty long arms and i was able to have a guy from the TM tour van fit me and I got fit for a 1/2 inch over as well. Alot of how long your clubs are have to do with how tall u stand, arm length, if u have a long or shorter torso ect. DJ's has very long arms so it doesn't surprise me at all that he play 1/2 inch over, he certainly doesn't need to go with longer clubs to get a little bit extra distance
