Mizuno MX 17 and Mizuno Shafts

Got a question for anyoen out there. First I am looking at the Mizuno MX 17 Irons, anyone play them have an opinion? Secondly, I havbe heard nothing about Mizuno shafts, in this case the Mizuno Exsar® Blue Graphite, or

the Mizuno Exsar IS2 Graphite. Anyone have an experience with, knowledge of these shafts and the quaality if Mizuno Graphite shafts?

I had the Mx-17 for about 3 months and later switch to the mx-23. There both good irons, 17 are cast and the 23 are forged. I could not feel the differents with the club heads. I had Nippons 950r installed in the 23s, there was a big difference there. I gained one club. hope to increase this with more lessons.

I'm playing the 17s now and love them. Had them a little over a year and have gone from scoring over 100 to the mid 80s.

I am in accord with Noncenx, the MX-17's are excellent. IMO the best cast cavity backs available, super easy to hit well and I love the simple and classy chrome and black aesthetics. Sorry I haven't hit the Exsar graphite iron shafts so I don't know about those, but if you're going with a stock shaft the MX-17 has the Dynalite Gold as its stock steel shaft and it is perfect as long as you're not a high ball hitter trying to bring your flight down. Sirshanksalot.com has a review of the MX-17's and regarding the Exsar graphite shafts he recommended it only for slow swing speed players. If you're considering graphite because of the lighter weight as opposed to a slow swing speed, Mizuno offers the Nippon 950's (which I have and love) at about 100 grams. I've had several phone conversations with Mizuno's custom dept. and they were very nice and helpful, I'm sure if you called their 800 number from their website they could help you decide whether the Exsar graphite might be a good fit for you. Thankls for the feedback. I am considering the graphites mainly for the lighter weight. I have avergae swing spped with driver around 95mph, so that wouldnt really fall into the slow swing category. I am wondering if Mizuno can offer the Nipon 850's which is 15 gramsd lighter than the 950's in a steel shaft.....

I have the MX-17 with the Exsar Graphite R flex.For my swing speed ( around 90) these are real great.The ball flight is a bit high,but you can get them fitted with say Prologics to lower the ball flight and still stay in the 70gr.weight.
