feedback on x460 driver

Any Feedback on X460 Driver ?

I recently went to a club fitter and I tested, R5 dual, cleveland Launcher, Nike ignite and Callaway x460 10 degrees. I don't have a consistent swing and have 85-90 club head speed and ten to have open club face at impact so finally the club fitter recommended me the X460 10 degrees no the tour issue.

I've tried it once in the driving range and hit it more of a draw since the club fitter told me to close the club face at address to compensate my tendency to have an open club face at impact I'm hitting it at least 200-220 in the driving range.

Just want to know how good the Driver is, those who have used it so i can know if i should keep it.

I don't think it matters what driver you are swinging until you get your swing more consistent. Not a knock on you, we all fight with consistency from time to time, but the driver is the one club that will really expose your swing flaws. Work on that first. The X 460 is an awesome stick. I play the X Tour version becuase I already play a natural draw. I'm surprised your pro has you close the face at address becuase it is already 2* closed by design. Be careful you don't get into a bad habit there.

Work on your swing with what you have. Don't go blowing a lot of money looking for a better game until your swing can take advantage of it.

If you want to look at another driver try out a regular FT-3 with draw bias. Try a 10* or higher in draw bias. The 55gm shaft might help you pick up a few mph and close the face more naturally. It also has a 1* closed face. The X 460 is very good though and will take you a long ways both literally and figuratively.

The X460 drove my MP001 right out of the bag. I sought out the 2* close to help with control. It works great for me, increased distance and forgiveness. I too explored the Ft 3 however I am driven my cost too, so the X460 was right in the ball park. Good sound at impact, not great however I love the look and feel of the club. Do to costs I kept the stock fuji shaft and am very comfortable. I find myself shaping more shots of the tee than ever before I think you'll be pleased too. I also picked up the X tour 13* with stock shaft again I'm pleased with distance and striking the ball.

I tried it again this afternoon and so far it is still fine. My mis hits are not that far off, im just having a problem with the grip because i can feel see some red marks in my right thumb, I don't know if I am just holding it too tight or should I look for another grip which is softer.

have you change the grip of you x460 ?

You're definitely holding it too tight. If you loosen up your grip you might see a left to right ballflight. I have a X460 Tour with the Aldila NV 65-S in it. Very competent driver, but I'm not sure it's better than my G5 yet. Playing with it tomorrow so we'll find out soon enough how the two stack up. The non-tour X460 is two degrees closed so I agree that there's no need to close the face down further.

Due to my j33r 420 going out of commision, i demo'd a x460 tour. it really is a nice club. a little bit loud and has some good pop to it. i picked one up yesterday with a nv-65 shaft over the 26.3 fuji shaft since i've been using the green shaft in all my driver for the past year without any complaints. I would have bought the J33R 460 but it would have been 2-3 weeks before delivery.

IMHO its a good driver... most Ti driver these days is pretty much the same in performance. Get some lessons from a pro instead of a club fitter. the reason why you need to close the club face at address is because there is a swing flaw. also if you are going to close the club face you will be delofting the face so you might want a higher lofted head... plus with more loft the will be less side spin :golfer:

I fully agree with you on this, try hitting it without the closing down the face, then swing one that is a higher loft, llike the 10*, then see how you carry the ball, remember you want to max out your carry, thats how these new drivers are built, high and long.

I have the x460 Tour version. It is a very solid driver. I tried both the x460 and Ft-3 from callaway and though the Ft-3 may be a little longer, I hated the sound and look of it. The x460 sounds loud but very powerful. The tour sets up square and looks nice. For $299 it is a good driver.
