Moody Gardens golf course

Need opinions please

Going to Galveston and will have time to get 18 in and want to know if the Moody Gardens course is worth playing. Thanks in advance for any response.

Played there about a month ago and it was in great shape.

Still an island course and pretty short. Windy and flat, a few blind tee shots, greens rolled nicely.

You can "see" the money they put into it.

Thanks for the info. Got out as the first out on Saturday with the group I was going to play with allowing me to go on as a single in front. Greens rolled well and the course was in good shape. Good course to play if ever visiting Galveston island.

I played there this summer on a very windy day and had possibly the worst ballstriking day I'd had in months. Not a good combo. Very impressed by the improvements they made over the old Galveston muni. I really liked how healthy and firm the turf was, and this was when the island was still in full-on recovery mode. Definitely would play again if in the area.

One of my good friends lives in Austin, and his mom lives in Galveston, so he played Moody few weeks ago. He said the course is nice,but in the summer, the mosquitos eat you alive, I guess that's anywhere in Galveston though.

You are correct. The mosquitoes were about as bad as I have ever seen. It was like
Off! attracted them.

That is anywhere within a 100 miles of the gulf coast, in my experience.

HAHA I couldnt agree more. I golf there all the time. Its in excellent condition. Has its own irrigation system so when drought is in affect they are still watering. Best bang for your bug if you want nice scoring greens. Ask about the pyramid program if you go a lot best deal ever. $50 per month unlimited range balls, any day after 2pm ride 18 for $15 on free soda and 10% off apparel.

[/quote]the damn bugs are the size of birds along the coast of Texas! We used to duck hunt in Winnie and I swear they were as big as a humming bird, and you're right about them being attracted to off! Lol
