What are the course conditions in Dallas?

Taking a road trip next week with a few friends and heading down to Dallas, I was just wondering what the course conditions are like this time of year, and if there are any courses that are in better/worse conditions then the rest. Thanks

just got back yesterday from dallas and it was collllllllllllllllllllllllllld!

most of the grass has gone dormant except for the greens. everything was still in good shape except for the certain areas where the armadillos were digging up.

Thanks for some imput Tour...I figured it might be a little chilli but the weather reports look like it should warm up, and coming from Minnesota I dont think the weather will stop us from getting in a few rounds.

Currently it's cold, damp and gloomy. I would say most courses will still be playable unless we get tons of rain in the next few days.

All the Bermuda grass areas are pretty much dormant so they will be brown. For some courses, that is the rough, for others it is the fairways. It just depends on what grasses are used where by the course and if overseeding is done or not. Fescue and bent grass thrive in the cooler weather. Fescue is used exclusively in the rough so that can be pretty thick; if the greens are bent or a bent hybrid they should be in terrific shape. My course has Bermuda fairways, they do not overseed as it inhibits the re-growth of the Bermuda in the Spring, fescue rough and bent greens. As the time goes on, the fairways can look pretty beaten up as there is no regrowth to cover over the divots. The greens are running about as true and fast as I have ever seen them.

I haven't played on a course with Bermuda greens, which is quite common down here, so I don't know if they overseed or what they do.
