Question on Nike Str8 fit

Hi guys,

I currently play the Dymo Str8 fit and will be buying a VR driver for myself next week and probably be getting the Machspeed for my wife when it is released in March.

 

I have a question though...which I tried looking through the forums but I have seen mixed answers.

 

I bought 2 Dymo Str8 fit adaptors from ebay and its cool, it allows me to try out different shafts with my Dymo

 

I was wondering if the Dymo's str8 fit adaptors will fit into the VR driver? Based on logic I think the VR has a different adaptor as it adjusts in 32 positions whereas the Dymo adjusts in 8? Can someone tell me if I am right or wrong? Also, has anyone tried inserting a Dymo adaptor into the VR driver? Can it go in at all?

 

secondly, as for the Machspeed, it is adjustable in 8 positions - same as the Dymo. Can I assume then that the Dymo adaptor can fit into the Machspeed driver? Or am I wrong again? Has anyone tried doing stuff like this during any demos?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Str8 fit adaptors will fit Str8 Fit Tour, but not vice versa.

One thing to be careful of, the shaft locking nut on the Dymo was a nickel alloy. The shaft locking nut on the Vr and Machspeed is an aluminum alloy. There is about 5 grams difference between the two. If you use one of the Dymo shaft adaptors with the Vr/MS, I think you will find the swing weight pretty heavy.

Is there str8 fit tour versions outside?

By Str8Fit Tour I believe he meant VR Str8Fit Tour, where Str8Fit was referring to Dymo.

I got my Dymo2 Str8-Fit shaft into my Vr Tour Str8-fit head @ the neutral position.

Oh? Only at Neutral? Oh man, that means we can use the old dymo shaft and adaptor but, cant change the angles.....defeats the purpose pretty much eh?

I hit the VR with my white board in the 2 deg open posistion. It was a pretty nice combination.

i bought my VR driver today and to my surprise, the old dymo adaptor fits........i rotate it around and at several positions it managed to go in! KOOL!

I spoke with Nike CS and they said that last years STR8 adaptors DO NOT fit either the VR or Mach Speed STR8 fit. They sent me an email to that effect also.

I put my shaft from my Dymo Str8-Fit in a Vr Tour Str8-Fit driver. it worked...it clicked...it beeped. I didn't hit with it in. But I tried it.

I have both and was able to make the old str8-fit work on the new VR Driver.

The Str8-fit "Tour" adapter used on the new VR drivers have 32 potential adjustments. if you use your old adapter on the new VR clubhead, you are restricted to the original 8 positions.

The old adapters also work on the fairway woods. Although it would be really odd to have a 46" 5 wood.

If you try to insert the new Str8-fit "Tour" adapter into your old Dymo club, it does not work.

From what I have heard, the Machspeed adapters are different than the old Str8-fit and new Str8-fit "Tour" and can only be used on Machspeed clubheads and not backwards compatible with the original Str8-fit Dymo nor new VR Str8-fit Tour heads. I don't have a Machspeed clubhead so no direct testing on my part.

Just give it a couple of years, 46" would be the standard length, drivers will be 48" and stretch out a couple more during the downswing...

iheartburner @ Ebay, but just checked and she only has the TM r9 FCT adapters and no longer listing Str8-fit adapters.

Can anybody tell me please, does the dymo STr8 Fit wrench also work on the new VR Str8 Fit adaptor? I've lost mine and need to pick up a replacement.

I think Nike would like to have you purchase the upgraded shaft from one of their authorized resellers. Can't quite figure out any other reason behind making each club head with a different adapter aside from forcing the end buyer to spend more money from Nike.

I've purchased both the TM R9 adapters and Str8 adapters from iheartburner on ebay as well as her blog site. It's all legit and she is a great seller. The shipping sometimes takes time ... not because she takes a long time to ship it out but because of where she is shipping from. Don't let the Singapore location scare you with this particular seller ... she is one of the few sellers you can really trust.
