Skycaddie SGX- Who gets it first? (MERGED)

Just got the 'delayed' email notification from Sports Authority this morning. I gave them a call just to see if they could give me an estimated date. The customer service rep said that the note in the computer estimated the ship date at May 6.

Looks like I'll be utilizing [url="http://www.freecaddie.com/"]FreeCaddie[/url] on my Palm Pre for a couple more weeks.

How is anyone getting the price of $319 and who is it through? I tried sports authority and used different coupon codes there, but it doesn't change. Also, what is GPP? I tried the golf galaxy coupon code and it gets it to $349.

Since no one really knows when the SGX will be in stock and every place gives a different date, I think I will wait until it is in stock somewhere before ordering. Waiting a couple more days or weeks is fine. I'm not in that big of a hurry to basically give my SG5 away on a trade in. Yes, I will keep telling myself that.

I have one on order from Sports Authority and decided to call GPP. The main reason is that Sports Authority will cancel your order within 30 days. At first the guy at GPP told me $399. When I pushed him with the Sports Authority discount and the GolfWRX thread he asked his
supervisor who approved the sale at the $319 price. I'll hold off a week or so before I cancel the other order.

Skygolf.com states that the SGX is now available. I checked last night and it said pre-order. Based on this, I'm hoping that most golf stores get them in stock early next week.

Now my credit card was charged on the 8Th of Apr. Normally they do not charge the card until it is shipped but I have not received any information that it has so I figure this forum will be the best place to see when people start getting them or at least information they are coming.

From my observations, it seems that most vendors charge your credit card immediately on pre-orders.

Just wanted to say how awesome GPP is! I just got off the phone with them and they are still honoring the $319.99 price on the SGX with 2 day shipping! My rep said that they hope to ship out this week (said Sky Golf started shipping to them late last week).

Thanks also to everyone for the heads up on the discount! Made my GPS decision a lot easier!!

Just got off the phone with Sports Authority. I had called just to double-check and see if they had any idea as to when they might be expecting their SGX's and the customer service rep (who was incredibly friendly) mentioned they had a revised ship date of May 6.

However, I informed him that SkyGolf had said they finally started shipping units. So, he dug a little deeper and discovered that they were expecting a shipment today. Now, he was sure to inform me that it was by no means a guarantee they would actually receive that shipment today and that they would disperse them on a first come first served basis.

All that said, I wouldn't be surprised if they do in fact get them today and start shipping to those of us who pre-ordered some time ago.

We'll see. But at least that's a ray of hope for those of us who bought through a retailer, as opposed to directly from SkyGolf.

Yeah, the rep told me on the phone that worst case scenario, it could take a week to receive shipment, get the products logged into their distribution system, then fulfill any orders for said product.

Either way, it's good to hear they're receiving shipments from SkyGolf now. I ordered mine on March 18 so I'm guessing I'm probably near the middle-end of the queue. Hopefully I'll get it in a week or two for my May 2nd outing.

Just because it is "available" doesn't mean it is available [i]everywhere[/i]. Some vendors will receive it before others.

In a previous life I worked in shipping/receiving- we would get a big backorder fulfilled from the manufacturer and it would take us days/weeks to ship everything to our various outlets.

These things are going to trickle out in the next few weeks.

I just canceled the order with SA and talked to Paul at GPP.com and ordered though them. They matched the deal and got free shipping as well!

I called SA to check if they received shipment as what ChappyEight mentioned earlier about them maybe receiving them today and they still didn't know what the heck was going on nor did the rep even bother to look a little deeper. Ultimately I saved more money with GPP since I didn't get hit with tax or shipping and I gave my business to a forum vendor which is always good.

Paul mentioned they are expecting shipping tomorrow or Wednesday.

Agree 100%! Called GPP this morning and they were still honoring the deal. Wouldn't have purchased it otherwise. A big thanks to everyone who posted info about it!!!
