TW 2006 9.50 @ Staples

I just came from Staples where I found Tiger Woods 2006 from EA Sports for 9.50 in the clearance section. The store manager said it, along with a few other games, were placed in the clearance section for 19.99 - Last week they were told to slash the prices again. He also said, anything ending in the price .50 is a national sale!

TW06 is supposed to be awesome and I'm sure most of you already have it, but for those that don't - walk your next round of golf and use the cart money to pay for the game. I'm installing it now but cant wait to play online.

BTW - if anyone cares some of the other titles that were marked down to 9.99 were: Sims (a few different versions), Harry Potter, Need For Speed - most wanted, Battlefield 2, Madden 2006...

Suprisingly, yes. I installed it on my normal desktop, that has an original Geforce 6800, and I couldn't run it on high. I switched it over to my gaming maching running a x1800 xt and it runs perfectly. Obviously there is a big difference in the video cards, BUT if you're planning on playing BF2 aswell, you should worry about that graphics hogger first.

 

I could of played it on the 6800 and been happy, but there is a big difference when playing it on high resolution. Don't expect to play it on a base level dell laptop, but you can get by with most new desktops, but need a lot more to run it at full resolution.

I have it on my Xbox 360 and love it. I have played all there is to play except finish the season and play the boss match against tiger. The game gets a good review from me but the only thing its lacking is more equipment in the game I know its probably some legality stuff puting some of the manufactures clubs on there but my god there is nothing to choose from.

It was actually a whopping $9.90 at the Staples here. Don't worry, I shelled out the extra $.40 . It's a great game. Been playing it online all afternoon. I'm addicted.

I am running it on my Dell Media Edition PC. 4.o ghz processor, 1 gig of memory and 256 mb video card. It looks ok to me. The optical mouse I have screws up my swing though. I may switch back to the 3 click swing. Only problem with that is you lose the ability to shape your shot if there isn't any wind.

 

The cool thing is the Season Mode where you pretty much start out as a weekend hack at Bethpage Black. Then you slowly work your way up through the mini tour circuits. It makes it more fun, but you better make time to play it. It isn't as easy as the console versions where you start out playing the Mercedes Championships at Kapalua on the PGA Tour.

 

It's worth the $9 and change. I think the new one comes out in October doesn't it? Probably explains the price drop.

I read, 07 should be out by Nov (just in time for Christmas). Either way, I'll get my few months of enjoyment out of all the games I have, then move on. I have also heard 07 is almost entirely online play. Season play will be online, working up the ranks with people of simlar skill. I was also told they've had major problems with people cheating online, and with 07 they hope to solve that.

 

I really like the season play, although I haven't had much time to put into it. The few hours I have has been fun. I decided to have Pebble be my home course, and am hating it. There are a lot of forced carries out there, and I don't have the power or long game to clear most of them. I have to play a lot of par 4s as short par 5s...... :crazy: Kinda fun.

 

I'd be more then happy to host a tourney, or even a foursome at some point. Anyone else interested that has the PC version?

Yup, a BEFW11S4 so nothing extreme, but still great for 9.50. I pulled it apart and mounted the bare parts in the dash of my car and broadcast my phones EVDO on long car rides for those in the car.

 

The store manager lives above us and handed me this one morning as he was leaving and said "Stop buy and grab what you want, it all goes on sale this morning"... Anything that ends in $9.50 should be nation clearance..
