Just a few pictures of a couple of original condition (not refinished) classic persimmons.

[size="4"][color="#8b0000"]They are very nice looking persimmons. I just started collecting and doing a bit 3R's work on older HB's within the last six months. I find, the older the HB, the more curved or rounded club head design.
On a personal note - I prefer the design to the older MacGregors!
Lots of depth in the face, wide, fewer face lines - really nice looking clubs.

I agree about the old PowerBilts, they are my favorites and I have been collecting them for a long time.

My favorite model year is 1957, followed by the 1960 model, the 1954 model is very nice too.
The deep face drivers of these years are very solid and the fairway woods are easy to hit.

My pictures don't really do these clubs justice, they look better in "real life".

I actually just posted a question in the main equipment forum asking for help dating a persimmon I rescued from the scrap heap. It has an interesting feature in that there is a rear weight screwed into the back of the club. Hit this at a local executive and fell in love! Was astonished how long this good ol' boy is!

The circa 1979 Super Citation, made for the Asian market had no brass back. I had one.

I'm bringing an old thread back to life. I read this last year and got it in my head I need to pick up a few PowerBilts and see how they play. I blame Bella Woods for costing me money, although not much since it seems to be cheaper to pick up PowerBilts than Macs. So far I have a set of 1/3/4 1960's, a random '56 Citation 4 wood in great shape I picked up in a local Goodwill, and a '66 deep face driver. I'm really digging these so far.

 

The driver came in pretty good shape, just some finish damage on the face due to a hunk of tar stuck to it. No cracks, no deep divots, everything set tight, so I did my first light touch up over a refinish. I cleaned the face down to the wood, did a light scuff on the rest of the head, and then dipped it a few times. It really is a nice club and the bright red Hard Test fiber insert looks very cool.  The driver and 4 wood are below, I'll post the rest when I refinish them some time next year.
