Looks like he was back to the Scotty during Wednesday's practice round

Looks like the USA team is keeping their reputation for wearing the ugliest clothing for a couple more years.
Who decides on their Ryder Cup Clothes? Don't they get to vote on what the team will be wearing?
The jackets look like generic football jerseys.
I can't wait to see the ugly shirts they will be sporting.

The old Scotty Cameron putter Tiger has been using might not be the greatest putter in the world, but at one time Tiger woods was one of the greatest putters in the world using that putter.
Other than Tiger's age, the only thing that has changed is the ball Tiger is using.
I know speeds of greens can be different from course to course and day to day, but the average speed of the greens on tour have not changed drastically over the last 10 years.
At least not enough to say that a putter that worked great 10 years ago is now obsolete on todays tour greens.
In a nut shell, what I am trying to say is the old cliché, " it's the Indian not the arrow."
I am still a very good putter, but I have a lot more respect for what can happen with a bad putt than the fearless putter I was 20 years ago.
I used to putt to make everything 20 years ago, now I putt to not miss anything.
It ends up being about the same amount of putts after 18 holes, but is a totally different mindset.
I think Tiger is at that crossroads with his putting mindset.
He used to give everything an aggressive roll at the hole.
Now he seams to be trying to lag it over the front lip of the hole with caution, possibly because he has experienced or has been mentally scared by some unforgettable misses over the years.

When I was on the practice green a couple months ago.
I was watching 4 high school golfers having a putting competition while I was practice putting.
3 of them were putting the ball with good hole speed and leaving most of their putts within 2 feet or so.
The 4th kid was hitting his putts about 4 to 5 feet by the hole most of the time if his putts did not go in the hole.
At first I thought that kid has to work on his speed/distance control.
I putted for about another 30 minutes and overheard that the 4th kid that was often putting 4 or 5 feet past the hole had won their putting competition.
I realized that since almost every one of his putts was making it to the hole or past the hole that he had made a lot more one putts than the 3 other kids.
He also made enough of his 4 and 5 footers coming back to outweigh the tentative two putt lag style the other 3 kids were using.
It reminded me of the old adage that "100% of all putts left short never go in."
I thought of this lesson I learned the next day in my 9 hole Wednesday night league and had 10 putts and no chip ins for a 36.
I missed a downhill double breaking 45 footer.
I think Tiger needs to get back to his old aggressive putting mindset to sink more putts.

I believe that this year it was Pavin's wife that did the clothes choices. Must say I much more of a fan of the Europeans clothes. Still like last years US presidents cup gear the most

The text in red isn't entirely true. He has the badges of the VR's but he sure doesn't have the VR's. The line above the muscle on the actual VR's has a curve to it, but on Tiger's irons the line is straight. More like what the VR-Pro irons look like, but with VR badges.

I'm fairly sure Tiger plays old school lofted irons with something like a 33* 6 iron and a 49 or 50* pitching wedge.

correct me if I'm wrong...

Does Tiger have weak lofted irons, as surely he cant go pw to 56 degree sandwedge as that would be a huge gap?
nope thats the way hes plays it. hes a professional for a reason, he can control and hit 75% that fills the gap. some pros are actually comfortable more that way

I was thinking the same thing. He's got the game to hit any shot, so a 7-8° difference isn't too much to for Tiger to handle. He's handled tons of gaps in the past.....OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I'm not sure I agree with the idea that he plays standard loft irons. I recently read somewhere where he was quoted saying "I switch between my 5 wood and 2 iron. I hit my 5 wood 10-15 yards farther than my 2 iron and that's a pretty big gap in distance." With that being said going from a 47-48* pitching wedge to a 56* sand wedge is a pretty big gap in distance too.

Not that anyone cares, but his website also says his irons are 1* upright.

WEll Put!!!.....many of us discover this when playing in a scramble (which is usually just a BIIIG waste of time..). Why do we get so tentative when we get older???? I use to put the eyes out when I was 16!!! Now im 37 and can't throw it in the ocean!!!!:russian_roulette::man_in_love::man_in_love:

"Any Idea Who is Forging his irons??? Whats the "real" word on Miura or Endo???"

I'm pretty sure it's miura because when he signed with nike he stated in the contract they needed to copy his titleist 681's and I believe those were forged by miura if I am not mistaken
Nike Vr Tour 8.5 w/ 7.2 TS Motore Speeder
LOL, where do you people get this stuff? In his Nike contract it said they needed to copy his 681's? That's hilarious...the retail 681's were never Miura. This Tiger Woods Miura thing cracks me up. By the way those VR blades looking nothing similar to retail either. Tiger plays a more traditionally lofted set. His PW is 50 degrees... I believe it goes 50, 45, 41, 37, 33, 30, 27, 24, 21...his 2 iron is 21 degrees. I imagine he hits that 5 wood further than his 2 iron because its a 19 degree metal wood with graphite shaft versus a 21 degree 2 iron. His irons are also built on a 37.5" 5 iron. Very short and weak by today's "standard."
