pls recommend the best public tracks in the area...spending the entire thanksgiving week in oro valley

[u]Oro Valley area
[/u]1. Vistoso - they are currently going through a management change so I can't predict how the new management will treat the course, but this has been my favorite course in Tucson for a long time.
2. Tucson National - not a huge fan of the Sonoran course, but the Catalina course is very nice (PGA event used to be held here)
3. Ritz Carlton - home of the world match play. Haven't had a chance to head out there yet, but have heard some good things. Most complaints refer to the difficulty of the greens.
4. Pines Golf Club of Marana - a little quirky, but not a bad track for the price

[/u]1. Ventana Canyon - usually in great shape. I would highly recommend these courses.
2. Starr Pass - again, usually in great shape, but a very difficult course. Be prepared for a true test of desert golf
3. AZ National - UofA's home golf course. If it's in good shape, it's a real nice course
4. La Paloma - not my favorite, but some people rave about this course
5. Randolph/Del Urich - two city courses where the LPGA used to have an event. Much more forgiving than the aforementioned courses and usually in pretty decent shape for city tracks. Can't beat the price here.

Played Tucson National, AZ National and Vistoso this past January...all really good. Stayed at El Conquistador..but did not play it. Other golfers staying there said it was pretty good.

If you play AZ National, Tiger's tee shot in his college days hit the middle of the pond on the left side of 18. Should keep you pretty grounded.
