Nike Tour D vs. TM Burner TP

I have been using TM Burner TP's lately because the price is right but am thinking of upgrading a bit.

 

Would I be right to think Nike Tour D would get about same distance off tee as Burner TP, be a little softer and spin a liltle more into green, but also cut a little easier?

The Tour D is not that much softer feeling than the Burner Tp nor will it cut easier. I found they both felt about the same. They are both firmer than balls like ZStar, Bridgestone RX, Trispeed etc.

The Tour D spun a bit more for me on shots into the green. In fact it spun a lot. Burner TP will bite the greens but not as well as the urethane balls.

I did not find any difference in yardage off the tee between the two. I would consider both as "long" off the tee. (95mph swing speed)

I felt the TourD spun more off the driver but it must have been my imagination as the Golf Digest testing showed that the TourD only spinning slightly more than the BurnerTP.

If you like the BurnerTP's I would give the TourD a try.

I've recently switched from the ProV1X to the Nike One Tour D. I still get good bite coming into greens. For short pitch shots the Nike spins slightly less than the Titleist but is still controllable. For me I get a couple more yards distance off each club. The biggest difference is the Nike is almost indestructable. If I don't hit a cartpath or tree, the ball looks great after 18 holes. Plus most everybody is selling them for $30. I stocked up when Costco had them on their web site for $20 and that included shippping.

I have played both balls and agree with WCG. These balls are very similar. IMO, nike one-D is the perfect upgrade from the burner TP.

You will get what you're expecting: a very small increase in driver spin and a noticeable increase in pitch spin.

Isnt the Tour D a high compression ball and the Burner TP a mid compression ball? Ive been under the impression that the TP is a softer ball, very similar to the Vapor Speed.

The Tour D's overall compression is around 100 and the Burner TP is in the high 80's. The Tour D has a slightly softer urethane cover compared to the Burner TP's ionomer cover.
