Elbows close together and pointed to hips at address

Have been struggling the past month with my swing - just not feeling connected and not hitting irons consistently at all. After playing 4 mediocre rounds at Hilton Head last week, I pick up my 5 lessons book to page through it. The picture of the golfer with the elbows close together at address, struck me as something I had gottten away from. Way away from, somehow drifted from it so that the left elbow was several inches outside, from the desired address position.

Yesterday I went to the range and assumed the address position Hogan advocates with the arms and elbows. Immediately, I started hitting them higher and straigher, with less effort. Probably my best range session all year.

Wondering if anyone else has strayed away from this, then returned to it. Just really seems to get the body and arms connected.

I just discovered the same...my left upper-arm was way disconnected on my thru-swing. I found working with a towel on the range to keep my upper-arms connected has really helped my swing and ballflight lately.

The towel drill is pretty straightforward. You take a towel and place it in your arm pit [ you dont roll it up into a ball, just fold it a couple times] and make a swing and keep it from falling out to the ground. You make shorter swings. You can put the towel under your left arm or right or both at one time, you can make practice swings or hit balls all while keeping the towel in place. The drill is used so you get the feeling of staying connected, if you get disconected while making the swings the towel will fall to the ground and you will quickly realize you have become disconnected. Its a very good drill because all you have to do is get used to keeping the towel in place, at first you will feel restricted but it will work and you will know what connected feels like
