Need cheap grips?

Grip One!

I spent a while looking for a cheap place to get Tour Velvet Cords or Lamkin Tour Blacks. I stumbled upon Grip One which is the in-house brand for Golfworks, which is Golf Galaxy's version of Golfsmith's clubmaking services. They were only $2.50/grip so I ordered 9 of them.

I got them into today, and these are bona-fide Tour Velvet Cords that just say Grip One. They have the same 2 white rings at the top and bottom of the grip, as well as the hash mark pattern in the rubber that is a Golf Pride patent.

Bottom line? Keep the generics in mind! :drinks:

I know that this is old but how do you like these grips as far as playing them? How long did they hold up I love cords but I just hate paying 7 dollars a grip and I saw these for 99 cents in the warehouse special. Just wondering if they hold up ok.

for .99 cents it's almost worth throwing them on the clubs just to see. if you don't like them, cut them off & you were only out around $10.

I've got Grip One grips on my irons that are identical to the Lamkin crosslines. They were only $.99 at golf galaxy. I played about 40 rounds with them last season and I don't think I'll have to replace them until at least next season. They hold up very well, a bit of the white coloring on the grips has worn off but this is just cosmetic, grips are still perfect.

How do the grips smell?? Last time I purchased some Grip One's they had an oder like recycled used tires. Not that smell makes any difference in how they play but I couldn't leave them in the car or bring my clubs in the house.....lol.

well, i decided to order some of the Grip One tour velvet full cords off golfworks & give them a try. i'll try to post a review on this thread when i get them put on & play a round with them.

Yea I have ordered some and should be here first of next week from their online store. Hopefully these will be decent solution to prices. I just think at that price you could feasibly regrip them about twice a year and still come out better. Let me know what ya'll think.

Grip One makes nice putter grips too. They have a nice velvet paddle in red, blue, black, neon yellow...all for about $1.50/piece. I picked up a few at Golf Galaxy. They also make a smooth black putter that's nice -- thicker than a Pingman.

Grip one is crap. My clubmaker was installing one on my driver, and the grip split down the side while installing.

 

 

StarGrip makes nice durable stuff tho, and fairly cheap
