Emerald Hills??

I may be in Hollywood on Monday to see a client. Anyone wanna play? Any courses to recommend. Emerald Hills is the only course I have played in Hollywood.



Not looking to drive much as I will be driving 3hrs for this meeting alone.

wish I could join you but I'm not in town until next weekend....

Jacaranda East is a track near there..but still 20 mins north east of Hollywood. Nice track with some decent contours on fairways and greens. First time I played it I was impressed. Mind you, this came after playing Inverrary about what felt like a bizillion times and getting tired of the flatness in FL golf.

Played Jacaranda East.. well the front nine anyway. 2:30 min 9, had a long drive home, couldnt stay. Neat course, old layout, packed to the house though. 400 rounds today on 36 holes. Ranger said its not normally like that, but I wont complain about free golf.



They took good care of me and the staff was friendly. I recommend it overall.

saw this late. If you come back down let me know im always down to play. Plantation Preserve would have been a nice option as well.

Haven't played there yet but now I know where it is. I see the DHL building in the back and looks like the one right off 595. Near the Ikea and Panther's arena.

The last couple weekends the courses have been packed. I also had a 2-1/3 9 hole outing that was painful. We normally are done within 3 hours for 18 with my playing partner.

Jacaranda renovated both the East and West courses recently, due mainly to the competition from Plantation Preserve. I haven't played Jacaranda since the renovation, but a friend who plays to scratch has, and he was impressed by the condition of the course.

Plantation Preserve is also just off 595, south of Broward Blvd, but it is a little east of University Drive, while Jacaranda is just west of Pine Island Road. Nice to have two high-quality facilities less than two miles apart to choose from!

If you can get reciprocal privileges via your home club, Fort Lauderdale CC has two good courses just east of Plantation Preserve, on the east side of Florida's Turnpike, also south of Broward Blvd. Grande Oaks, where Caddyshack was shot before it went way upscale and fully private, is about a mile south of 595 on University as well. Reciprocal privileges may be difficult there, but it's worth your pro giving them a call and trying.
