Stainless Or Chrome

This is a question for people who have or do own a set of 735*CM irons

Im ordering my irons in about 3 days or so which "alloy" should I purchase for these irons I have a set of Rac TP 2 and it seems to me that the chrome dings up so easily how about the stainless any different feeling.?. :man_in_love:

Chrome does look better, I'll give you that.

However, stainless is more durable, has no glare, and can be bent much more easily than the chrome without fear of spidering the finish. Just don't expect it to win any beauty contests.

If you need them to be bent more than 2º by Titleist, then stainless is going to be your only option. I believe stainless they will bend up to 4º. I had a clubfitter bend mine with a Mitchell machine and they bent like champs and don't have a mark on them from it.

I have the stainless and am quite happy with them so far. I've had softer feeling forgings, like Mizunos, but the Titleists feel soft enough to be sweet at impact, and they have a very "authoritative" feel at impact I guess you could say. Not "clicky" at impact like my Bridgestone Combos though. Very nice. Like the other poster said, won't win a beauty contest with the chrome set, but will probably look better longer.

I've read opinions that the 735 forgings aren't as nice as the other Titleist forgings. Ignore that. S300's in this set feel pretty silky smooth.

I agree. The long irons are great and the short irons are very versitile. I would go with the chrome, to me the stainless get marked up pretty easy. However, you can't go wrong with either so pick the one you prefer, there's no right or wrong answer. I guess I like pretty chrome!

I hit both models today and liked the look of the chrome better JUST SO SHINEY. And Well I really didnt notice that much of a feel difference in the irons but i was hitting dead range balls is there any difference.

I looked at the chrome and stainless but needed them bent to 3 degrees. As stated earlier...staniless was my only option....i love them....

Me and my swing coach had discussed this also. When i went up to see him yesterday we had brought out a set of the 695MB,CB, and 735-CM. The 695 CB broght down my ball flight a little but I couldnt work them as easily as the MB and CM. So I went to the 735-CM bent 1* Strong and that was amazing my swing coach said that if I needed this done then to bring my irons up to him next week (next lesson) and we would fix them up.

anyone have any trouble with bending the chrome irons, any marks left?

I got the stainless and love them. Played chrome irons for the last 6 years and never really like the glare I got with them. The stainless has held up well (been playing them since the beginning of the year), but the chrome is the "prettier" of the two. I am happy with my decision though.
