What's Everyone's Driver Swing Speed?

Regular flex graphite in everything but putter and wedges. 89mph with control and accuracy anything higher goes right. :drinks:

I didnt vote, because Im right on the cut line, ~95. If im just trying to get it in play Im low 90's, If Im going at it Im high 90's.

 

Oh, and I play R flex throughout the bag. R in driver, R300 in irons (wedges too.)

[bMy swing speed has been averaged out between 96mph, keeping it down the middle, and 108mph, up near the top of the scale without getting silly! I`m a PGA pro and these days that seems pretty slow but as i deliver the clubface to the ball in a pretty square position with a good swingpath i get an average of 250-290 with the driver. Swingspeed aint everything, i teach guys who generate speeds in excess of 119mph with the beast but the swingpath and clubface are not correct, therefore delivering a glancing blow to ball and negating that wonderfull advantage they have. A couple of 300+ drives a round is all they seem to talk about. selective memory loss seems to kick in when they try to remember how many fairways they hit per round. Its a real advantage to have the ability to put the ball way out there but if you are missing the majority of fairways you will always be found out when you play the tighter and more difficult courses. I have seen it so many times, my pupil hits his Cobra 40 yards past me but into the rough,left or right and then struggles on his approach to the green. Everybody knows this is true but very few players admit it!! The game on the PGATour may be becoming a power game but the club amateur game is still all about keeping it straight..

I average about 104 with an average ball speed of 161. I'm right in between an S and an X so I use the X for control.

I finally got on a launch monitor, and my average was 118, high was 122.

2 sessions On a Vector at Edwin Watts I am at 96 -99. On a Doppler at a Ping Van fitting I was at 90. By the way the real world numbers were MUCH more accurate on the Doppler. The Vector gave me numbers that just don't happen!

I tested on a Beltronics and my swing speed for my driver varied between 99-103 mph at the end of August. I have been working for almost a month on increasing my SS so it should be interesting to test myself again at the end of September.

Begining of the year I couldn't even maintain 98 mph.

 

Now after good series of lesssons from a good coach ( he in singapore, hurray!) and after some lessons that i found 110-120mph.

 

Average 280-300 yards.

 

The joke is.. My score haven't really gone down. this 3 months :p I think its my course strats and mental aspects that need some work haha.

 

I have no problem keep playing Stiff just pick the right profile( = straight) and its alot easier for weekend golfers like me. ( softer- easier to maintain lag)

Mine is between 98-102. I've only had it checked once and that was about a year ago but I would imagine it is the same.

I voted 80-95. Mine is normally around the 92MPH mark at the moment, but can get out to about 98.

 

My average drive would be around the 245-250 metre mark, if I'm really hitting it well I can get out to 260-270 metres, but that isn't the norm.

 

I recently changed my shaft from a Prolaunch Blue 65S to an Aldila NVS 65R and have found this much better for me and enables me to swing within myself for much better results.

Last launch monitor session was an average of 83 mph. Low was 82, high was 94.

 

I've changed my setup and I'm creating much more lag right now, it'd be interesting to see if my SS has increases. I play a S-Flex in my MacTec driver, but the R-flex is notoriously whippy.

 

If I get a driver with more loft than my 10.5 degrees, can I expect a little more distance??

I've been clocked at about a category five, although minimal :beach:

 

I've never actually been on a launch monitor, but from time on the range and solid tee shots actually hit on the course, I'd say conservatively a little over 100mph (cool)

I got on a LM once and was at about 110 average swing. Im playing a S but looking to reshaft and dunno if I should put in S or X's.

It was 118 to 120 about 3 years ago. I imagine it hasn't change much since then.

Same for me, except I play a stiff shaft in driver and 3W and whatever wedge flexes came with my wedges.

I had swings from 103 to 109 when I got tested to see what kind of shaft I needed. I ended up going with an X-stiff. Too many times I found myself trying to swing 95 to 100% when it came to driver and a comfortable 75 to 80% with my irons. It resulted in some massive drives and a bunch of massively awful drives. I've since switched to a stiff driver with more loft and tell myself not to swing so hard.

 

I haven't lost a thing a far as distance because I get more carry, and I'm hitting tons more fairways than ever.

100mph if I want to hit more fairways. 104-107 mph if I can get to the green from the next fairway over. I've averaged 261.5 yards off the tee, over my last 5 rounds (measured with my Sky Caddie). Once in awhile with a tail wind or by hitting a sprinkler head I'll get out to the 275-290'ish mark.

I went on a Vector and my SS was between 80-85. I'm booking a lesson right now...

 

That's why I play a 13.5* driver with a Prolaunch R. I need high launch and high spin to keep the ball in the air.

 

It's up a bit, thankfully, to an average of 90. Still low, but improving. Driver loft down to 10.5*.

I averaged 104MPH in March, and I've picked up about 15 yards since then so I'd guess 110MPH. I play an S flex and R300's in the irons because I prefer to hit them with a slower swing. I just love how gus will try and muscle a 9 iron 150 and miss the green by miles when you can play a normal 8 or 3/4 7 and be on the green 8 times out of 10.

I've been on the launch monitor on roughly 20 different occasions and the average driver speed has always been consistenly between 105 and 110 MPH. The fastest one being 131 MPH (not something I could do and still control the ball flight comfortably).

Mine is 110 last time checked but a better measurement is ball speed mine is at 165mph.

right around 120. I am 6'6" so I have a little advantage there. Disadvantage: hitting the fairway!

hmm id say my average is about 120-115 im 6 ft 2 and very atheltic i must admit i think i swing too quick and hard.I have noticed that when my swing speed drops i hit more fairways but my scores still dont really change.Being in the rough at my home club is better than being in the fairway :)
