North Carolina golf

looking for a place to play for a NC virgin

Heading to the Raleigh/Clemmons North Carolina for business and will have one day to play golf. I am looking for some suggestions in either area. I the golf gods alighn a may be able to play 36.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you're in Clemmons, play Tanglewood Park, both of them but especially the Championship course without hesitation. One of my faves, and if I'm anywhere near NC, I go there. Raleigh, I don't know much about, but you're not too far from Pinehurt/Sanford to play some great golf at Tobacco Road or the P-Hurst courses. Even Southern Pines CC, Pine Needles, Mid Pines, all great.

Duke and Lonnie Poole are both great courses. Lonnie Poole has some real great views of downtown, and conditions last time I played were outstanding. Tough course with fast greens. Another good track is Heritage in Wakeforest. Some other good ones are River Ridge and The Neuse.

Little bit of distance between Raleigh and Clemmons......about a 2 hour drive.....

So there is a ton of golf between those two locations.....

All of above mentioned are good choices.....

More might be Bryan Park (two courses if you can play 36)

If you want to continue west from Clemmons you have another great 36 hole facility available in Rock Barn- the Senior PGA does play a event there.

There is a ton of golf available between the locations...... so you shouldn't have any problem finding a place to play.

Great recommendations. Lonnie Poole has become one of my all time favorite golf courses.
