A YEAR, WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES AGE MAKE?

Recommended Posts

The diffence between, say 35 and 55.
(56)

Do you think, on average, that our bodies age the same in one year, say going from 55-56, as it did going from 35-36, or can we even compare it?
Sometimes I think that I'm aging in "dog years" these days. Does the aging process actually accelerate as we age? My mind and body definitely
posess different opinions on the subject.
Any thoughts?

Regards,

Mr. Runaway Train

Never noticed much of a difference from year to year until mid sixties. Before then I could literally jog 9 holes with bag on back and have a good score. In the let 12 months (68) the mind is willing but the body starts to complain by the 15 th when pushing a buggy in a comp. For some reason I now need a twenty minute nap after a game?

I think it's different for everyone depending on genetics, fitness level and the amount of wear and tear your body has had to endure over the years. I'm 43 and I can tell you that I am feeling it already. I had no problem playing 36 holes 10 years ago, but now the aches and pains creep in and I know I'll hurt like hell the next day.

Now in my case, I've got a family history of joint inflammation issues like arthritis and tendonitis, plus I have put my body through hell with a lifetime of hard sports including football, plus a lot of heavy weight training in my younger years. It all takes a toll even though I'm still in pretty good shape.

Now, on the other hand, I know guys in their 60s who don't appear to be in good shape, but have no aches or pains whatsoever.

+1.
It all depends on the person. I played a lot of sports, including golf when I was a teenager and into my 30's. Had no problem doing anything. Now, I am 56 and the legs aren't what they used to be although I can still play 36 in a cart. I have some arthritis and am out of shape. But on the bright side, I shoot in the high 70's and low 80's consistently. I never did that when I was younger.
