Sunday Golf Bags?

Road trip...advice needed!

I'm heading out on a golf road trip next month, and I don't want to take up a bunch of trunk space in my buddies car. Would I be able to fit all my clubs in a Sunday Bag? I can get a used one on the Bay for about $20. Since I only plan on using it once, and will be riding in a cart, it seems like a good idea.

Unless they only fit about 8 clubs.

Is this a good idea, or are there better options?

I bought this bag on amazon, best carry bag for me when I want to go lightweight easily holds 10 clubs. Amazon has a sale on it right now.

Most Sunday bags fit 14 clubs easily. My everyday bag is a Titleist Sunday bag and I play a full set of clubs.

Most of them will fit 14, but 10 is much more manageable. 14 grips sitting in the same space, combined with constantly putting the bag down and picking it up is a recipe for constant grip tangle. If you're patient and play at a very relaxed pace you shouldn't have problems, but I find it rather annoying, especially since you don't have the option of just standing the bag up while you're try to sort it out.

If you play a lot of early morning rounds, make sure you get a bag that is decently waterproof. Wet grips in a small bag will ruin your day quickly.

I've considered this as well, in fact we are probably looking at the same bags on eBay . I asked a guy who I noticed had one in his trunk and he said it was the best thing he ever did, switching to a sunday bag. He carried a full set, not sure if exactly 14 clubs, but it was not a half set or anything.

I use midsize grips so have been leery...seems like those that do say 14 will work lean towards it being pretty tight, so I can only imagine larger grips would make it worse. I probably will pick one up, because let's face it I have about 8 bags in the garage already so one more ain't gonna kill me... But, I think a lightweight "normal' bag like a Sun Mountain 3.5/Titleist lightweight would probably work just as well too.

i recommend it. i just bought a sunday bag yesterday from golf smith... pretty handy stuff

Look for a used Sun Mountain Mini. I don't think they make it anymore, but it is essentially a Sunday bag with a stand. You can fit a full set in, although it is a bit tight. Nice dual straps too.
