Club Covers

Why is it that so many iron players think it is amatuer to put iron covers on their irons, but have covers on their woods and putters? Just a thought about logic.

Edit: How many pros do you see with iron covers? If none use them, then by default it IS an amateur thing.

No, it is not here we go again. The other posts were "Do you use head covers on your irons? This one is why would you use them on Woods and putters and not on your irons?

Woods are much more delicate and quite susceptible to damage. You are slamming your irons into the ground/dirt/grass/rocks/sand constantly, so the idea of keeping them from bumping each other is superfluous.

I have never had a wood finish chip and I carry my driver naked but 3 wood covered. Actually I don't buy my woods with the intention of selling them so a few marks don't bother me, and no I don't have covers on my irons because am not much of a digger. I do have a cover on my Scotty, too expensive not too. I do believe though if you frequently trade or buy irons it would definately be an advantage to have them covered. I probably have a dozen sets of irons dating back to the early 70s so I don't sell very often.

i have covers on all my clubs but as im playing i will take the cover off the iron that im using an keep it off till the end of the round, there basically on so that one of my idiot friends dont drop them putting them in or out of the car again an it makes it eaiser when cleaning the clubs cause u know with ones u used during the round lol
