or other courses in the DFW area

hey all,

my father is coming in from overseas to play golf... (he's roughly a bogey golfer) and i wanted to take him to some of the best golf courses in the DFW area.

anyone have any recommendations? he's a bogey golfer but plays at really nice courses (ie. torrey pines, pebble beach, etc... his home course has green fees of $300)

is it worth it to go play at four seasons or are there any other recs?

TPC Four Seasons is in great shape the greens, fairways and everything associated with it, I play many DFW courses and nothing comes close (Bent grass greens in 100 degree heat) they are in Byron Nelson Tournament shape. You will need to make a room reservation to gain access to the course.

I played TPC four seasons the Friday after the Byron. (family works at Four Season) It was in incredible shape. If you are going to book a room just to play golf it gets expensive and may not be worth it.

The Tribute (recreation of the best holes from across the pond) and Old American (designed by Justin Leonard) in The Colony are two of the best courses in DFW. If your dad is a football fan I would recommend Cowboys golf club in Grapevine.

If you are south of DFW Tierra Verde in Arlington is great as well.

Played the Tribute probably 2-3 months ago and just had the opportunity to play at the Old American. I'd say the Old American is a track I'd love to play over and over again. It was in fabulous condition and the layout keeps it interesting and fun.

The Tribute reminded me a lot of a Tour 18 type course where it was designed to duplicate the more famous holes from the other side of the pond. Good fun, but I'd recommend trying out the Old American if you can make your way up to Frisco/The Colony.
