Best pencil bag

Im looking for a pencil bag and i need three things specifically

 

-lightweight

-a valuables pocket

-to be reasonable in value

 

can anyone recommend me one? i may even buy a stand bag if anyone can recommend a light one

I think most are around $60. I have the Ping Moonlite II. Chose that over the Titleist, which I think looks a little better, because the shoulder strap stays stiff and sticks up from the ground when you put your bag on the ground, so you don't have to bend over to pick it up.

I have tried a few and the Titleist is far and away the best one. In my opinion the Ping's stand-up strap is a bit of a gimmick, because you'll still end up bending all the way down to the ground to pick up your headcovers, etc. The Ping's club openings are also far too restrictive - you can maybe fit two clubs in each of the two top openings and then cram all the rest in the bottom - not enough space, while the single large opening with one divider of the Titleist bag allows you to split the clubs up evenly. Makes it a lot easier to get in and out. Also, the Titleist bag has a fleece-lined valuables pouch, while the Ping has nothing, unless you count a tiny nylon flap inside the ball pocket.

Don't think the strap is a gimmick. Even if you have to bend down to get your headcovers, that's only when you're hitting your woods. if you keep covers on your irons, those easily can be put in your pocket. Most putter headcovers can fit in a pocket too. So, for over half your shots at least, you won't need to worry about the headcover.

if you also want a stand, nike pro combo day bag. last yr's models can be had for $25-40. fairly light considering it has the stand, but only a 6" top.

I had both the Ping (with the standing strap) and the Titleist. After a whille I liked everything else about the Titleist better so I kept it even without the standing strap, which I think is a great feature.

I only use it on the very rare occasions that I play late in the day when the grass is dry. Typical soaking-wet early AM rounds, my 2-3/4 pound stand bg is more than worth it's weight.
