S59 Tours (+ 1/2") with DGX 100's. I just had the 5-iron reshafted with a PX 6.0 to give them a try. Not sure if I like it, seems to balloon on me occasionally, but it could just be me. Haven't hit it enough to get a good read on it.

I've heard very few Ping players are using the PX shaft. Anyone else with any input or experience with them? I've hit other players clubs that have the PX and loved the stablility, so I'm curious as to whether there's anything to it not being a match for Ping heads.

Thx,

Robbo

Does anyone have opinions on DGS vs. Z-Z65 in S58? Is only thing that will be different flight height? Does one shaft feel better than other?

I am thinking about ordering S58 and I can't decide between Z-Z65 shaft or DGS. I read that DGS will give me lower ball flight and is much heavier than Z-Z65. To whom would you recommend Z-Z65 instead of DGS.... and vice versa. I am thinking about ordering them with D3 swingweight.

Is there a difference in feel?

Will Z-Z65 give me extra distance, but loss of accuracy?

Which combo will work better?

Thanks alot!

It depends on your preferences. After playing Zing 2's with JZ shaft (116 grams?) I went through a bunch of sets of clubs in a few months. One was a stock S-59 with Zz65. The shaft performed well, I like the ballflight, it was somewhat low and deadly accurate. Every shot headed at the pin, but fell short of the green. Those shafts were about 108grams. ANd the swingweight was like a C-9 or D-0. It was aweful, I overswung and had no feel. Also I lost about 10-15yds from my current set up. Sold em, and found some S59's with DGS-300 (128 grams) with a swingweight of d-2. Much better, but not happy with them, I think I may need x100s.

I have to day I liked the zz65 alot, maybe if I got the cushin to add weight and had the swingweight upped to d-2 I may like them more than the s-300. LIke I said, I lost a ton of distance. Not sure why. I was struggling to get my 7i 160, whereas now a smooth 7 is 170; a hard one is 175 or so.

As far as feel, they just felt light, but they performed great. I thought the were smoother feeling, more reliable, and maybe even a touch stiffer than s-300 in my opinion.

As far as distance, I lost a ton with the zz-65. But I thought they were more accurate.

The best thing to do is try and get fitted. Plenty of places does PING fitting, and if you are lucky you could find the Ping Van.

Pings are an investment, they last forever, so you may as well get fitted properly. I would not ever try another stock set, as they are set up way to light (FOR ME).

Good luck
