Request for Handicap Flags

It was the first time I ever fired someone without having to conduct a 5-day investigation into the incident or place them on an "action plan" first. Surprisingly, I didn't even raise my voice to the guy when I fired him. I simply said, "The man you yelled at is blind. The dog that accompanies him is a guide dog and not...a pet. As such, we as a business have no issue with that. On top of what just happened, that man is a veteran and on top of that he's here staying at our hotel to bury his buddy who I have no doubt forgot more about being a man than either you or I can ever hope to fully understand. So, you can understand why I have no choice but to let you go."

If someone asks for a flag...please, give them the flag whether you think you can identify their disability or not. If their "flag use" causes what you feel is excessive wear or damage to your course, go at the work of repairing or maintaining the excessively worn or damaged ground with pride knowing that you are making it possible for someone differently abled to enjoy a round of golf.

Sounds more like the hotel may have failed to train the employee properly.

I have a legal handicap to the point I qualify for a car tag. But I've never applied for one. With my handicap I raced triathlons for 22 years, in the regular age group, and won numerous races.

I walk the course 3 days a week and cycle 40 to 50 miles each week.

Lots of different handicaps. You can't just stand there and see someone and know whether they are handicapped or not. Trust me, I suffer every evening from my activity level. Just ask my neurosurgeon!
