^A look at the clubhouse from the very back corner of the parking lot. The clubhouse goes really far back and I believe it overlooks the 18th green. I've heard it's one of the best 19th holes out there.

Hey guys, sorry to say that I just found out that I have to be at a wedding in Virginia the same weekend as the outing, so looks like I won't be making it. To put it mildly, I was quite unhappy to learn about it as I was stoked for this thing. If nothing else, you can bet I'll be taking my sticks to Virginia with me and definitely sneak in a couple rounds.

Hope this event goes really well and hopefully there will be another one at some point.

I'd be in on that. I've never been to Sugar Bush.

We'll have at least one more outing sometime next summer after this one so you'll have another opportunity. I'm thinking somewhere like Boulder Creek for the other one.

That'd be awesome.....I've never played Boulder Creek but I've driven past it multiple times on the way to Cleveland, been wanting to play it for a long time.

But yeah, I'd love to head out that way this summer to meet up for a round with just a few of us at Sugar Bush or wherever really.

1) How would you guys like to do the groups? We can do them randomly, or you guys can pick them based on who you want to be with and what tee time you would like. We could also do captains and have one captain per team time who can pick their group. Or, we could just do them randomly. If we do them randomly, I will take special requests if you want to be with [b]ONE[/b] other person. If you are bringing someone that isn't on GolfWRX(I think we've got 1 or 2) I'll make sure you two are together and you can give me one other member you'd like to be with.

Yea, we'll wait a while before we start getting them set up. I'm just trying to get a feel for how everyone would want make groups.


****COUNTDOWN TO THE OUTING---146 Days!

You asked if I kept a handicap above, I don't. I shoot low-mid 80's, these days, so put me with the worst of the group, please. My buddy is about the same skill. Neither of us will be upset if we get paired with complete hacks. I don't want to be the guy that gets paired with a scratch golfer and is holding everyone up. If no one objects, I think that it would be awesome to experience that.

Note: My buddy that I propose be with us is a bit of a trash talker (he thinks that he is much better than he is). I'm saying this up front in case someone will be annoyed/offended by it. He's a really fun guy to golf with, and his smack talk does not bother me as I just return the favor. Random strangers that have joined up with us mid-round seem to enjoy talking trash to him... so it is all in good fun.

Edit: As a treat, I will use my 1 iron to drive with all day, for those whom we get paired with.

How have I missed the updates on this thread the last few days? I have been sick in bed all day, laptop at my side and haven't seen any of this. (too busy watching the X- files commercial free on Hulu plus!) As far as groupings go, whatever works out best for everybody is fine with me. I really am uninterested in scrambling, i want to suck playing my own horrible damn shots if i am playing the quarry.I am interested in playing a few games. maybe some skins and a nassau 5 aside and total or whatever.

I was thinking the same thing. I always like to read through all your AZ Outing threads in the Southwest Regional Forum to get some ideas and see some of the things that have worked for you guys and what hasn't. When I was making this thread I was expecting to get two foursomes out at best so it's been a pleasant suprise so far.

I love how you guys took a picture of all the groups in one of your outings. That was really cool to put faces with names.

I agree on it not being a scramble just thought I would throw it out there.

Here is something my buddies and I have done in the past. Everyone throws in $20 - 10 of that goes into skins, 8 goes into closest to hole on par 3 ($2 per hole), and the other 2 goes into a post round drink fund.

DaSportsGuy if you need any help the day of I would be glad to help.
