Best Old Titeleist Or Mizuno Blade

I love my 67s. I hit them the same as 32s but I like their look a little more. Topline is so beautiful looking down on them. They're not for diggers, though.

Here's a vote for MP67's. But also consider MP14's or 29's. You did say "old".

The MP29 was one of the most playable blades I've ever hit, never did like the MP14 other than its looks. Tried the MP33 for a while (just ok imo), but went back to the 29's. The feel of the Mizuno irons has always been great and the looks are classic.

As far as the Titleist blades go: Played the 680's for a season and still regret getting rid of them. In college I had a set of the Tour Model blades circa mid 90's and loved them. Better feel than the 680's. Seems like the new Titleist blades all look great, but can't get that same soft Tour Model feel. **haven't hit a Titleist blade since the 670 or 690MB from a buddy's bag.

The good news is its hard to go wrong with any of those listed.

I wish I had re-shafted my 37s to Project X 6.0s before dumping them earlier this summer. I really just do not get along with DG shafts at all.

Had a set of 670s back when, sweet irons. The 690s were pretty solid too and it may not get better than the MP33's.

The MP14 is still the standard by which I judge all other irons. There has not been a better blade made before or since in my opinon.

A buddy of mine plays the Titleist 660s. I was just wondering what makes them a "Limited Release"? That is, are they special in some way? If they are just a limited number, why?

I remember reading somewhere about Luke Donald saying that the MP 32's are the best Mizuno irons he hit even while having his 62's in the bag. My first set was the T Zoid Pro 2's and the 32's and 60's didn't feel as good as the Pro 2's.

The were "custom order only". meaning they were usually specified by choice and never made it to "of the rack" stock options. Yes there were quite few in standard trim with the usual S300 and loft/lie, but the irons were built to order only and never released without requisition like normal stock sets in the range. 680's were the same too after a period of time in the UK. I guess this made them "limited release", but I've no idea on how many sets were available - certainly more than the 2500 of other limited release sets.
I played a set for a while recently (check my witb thread) but reverted back to the good old 690's.

I haven't played any of the new offerings from Mizuno but the Titleist irons you mention are all really good. I had a set of the 670s and they were not very forgiving as someone said. The 680s are the best looking to me but they are very small. The 690s and 660s are probably the largest and most forgiving if there is such a thing.
