Looking for places in Ft. Myers FL

Looking for courses in the less than $100 range to play while staying in the Sarasota/Ft. Myers/Venice area this February. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Check out ole corkscrew in Estero. Great course and it can be played at 100 at twilight rate. 140 pm.

OLD CORKSCREW.
Designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son, Steve. Was originally offered to another high end designer who turned it down due to the location. Nicklaus saw the land and knew what he could do with it. WOW! A beautifully designed track and one of the nicest and certainly most interesting and challenging I have ever played in Florida. 7393 from the tips with a 76.9/148 slope rating. 6617 from the Blues with a rating of 73.4/140 slope...this is in Florida folks. The course has everything, wild terrain, multiple lakes separating holes, tall pines framing most holes, wild flowers, fescue and the most multi-tiered, undulating greens I have ever seen. So far, no development so there are no buildings in sight bordering the course with the exception of one hole where you see a large equipment shed. At $80 for the round with cart and access to the practice facilities, it was a bargain. Compared to Tiberon at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, this was half the price and twice the course. If you are travelling to Naples, play this course. The course is located just south of Ft. Myers Airport, the airport used to fly into Naples, FL. The course is about 8 miles inland from the highway in the middle of nowwhere. What a find.You will not be disappointed. Staff is great and takes great pride in how you enjoyed yourself. Cart girls are knock outs.

Its a bit out of the way but the new Panther Run Golf Course at the new Del Webb developement is a great course for under 100 any time of day. Believe it was bout 65 bones last time i was down there in 2k10. Long but open track that has awesome green complexes. Also very few houses on course.

But YOU should definetly check out MAGNOLIA LANDING in North Ft. Myers. can be played for 85 during week in morning and is better "golf course" than old corkscew just doesnt have quite the surroundings.

+1 on cart girls they are hotter than could be every time. coulda swore i saw a few of them at hooters the night after i played.

I would also be looking for suggestions for early March for me and the wife.
Doing my research, I have Copperhead, Arrowhead, Valencia, Panther Run, Magnolia Landing and possibly Old Corkscrew as potential tracks.

Trying to do this on a budget so under $100.

I would say Valencia is better than arrowhead but they are basically the same course designed by the same local designer. Public/resort golf isn't really the thing down here. Almost all good golf down here is private.

A little farther south but look into Bonita Bay East. One course is for members only and then they allow some public play on the other course. Both course are Fazio designs and might be a little more than you want to spend but they are fantastic. 36 holes in a nature preserve so there are no homes, just golf!
