Playing golf on my Honeymoon

Good Afternoon Fellas,

In a shocking turn of events while layoing in bed with my fiance last night looking at honeymoon destinations she say's to me if I can have a spa day to my self you can have a golf day to your self. Deal? I of course said Deal.

So we know that were going to the Carribian but were not going to St. Kits, I am basing the trip on the golf of course, so where is the best place to play golf on my honeymoon.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon back in 2006 at Kapalua. She plays golf -- we played golf 4 of the 7 days!

Puerto Rico has some nice courses. I'm not sure that's the most romantic destination, but what do you want, golf or romance? That deal is the same one I make with my wife on all my incentive trips from work. One shocking thing I found on one of the trips, I did a spa day with my wife and it turned out to be one of the most incredibly romantic and enjoyable experiences we've had on a trip.

I was in Maui from 12-26-10 to 1-8-11. We were in Kaanapali Beach, which is about ten minutes south of Kapalua. After many days by the pool and beach and what not, my wife said the same thing as bartlettsj's wife. She said I can go play a round as long as I pay for a Spa day for her. Win win. I ended up playing two days at the Royal Kaanapali course. Would have loved to play Kapalua, but, it was the week before and of the TOC.

The carribean has a lot of great golf. You can't go wrong in Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic. Chi Chi's course is kinda cool. (Dorado something....) Casa de Campo in DR is great. Lots of great golf there.

I also like Jamaica - the Ritz there has a nice course.

And I would go to Maui if you can. The Hyatt Resort on Kaanapali Beach.

Sandals St. Lucia has a 9 hole club on the property, you could probably get a few rounds in while she's sleeping in. Wife and I played on our honeymoon. We also played in Barbados, think it was Barbados golf club. Decent track, nothing special.

We spent part of our honeymoon at the Wyndham Rio Mar on Puerto Rico. Nice facility - great beach and pool, decent restaurants on site, two decent golf courses on site, and the rates were very affordable. Also very close to the El Yunque rain forest, which was a great day trip. We also did the "bio bay" kayak tour, where you paddle at night into the bay with glowing micro organisms. Very nice trip altogether - equal parts fun and romantic without breaking our bank.

We also puddle jumped over to Anguilla for part of our honeymoon. Unbelievable beaches, ferry ride to shopping on St. Martin. Only one, very expensive Greg Norman golf course on the island though. We were there in May, which was a shoulder season for them, so the prices were more reasonable than in the winter and early spring.

I hear the all-inclusive Dominican Republic resorts do a good job, but I'm not sure if that's "vacation" good job or "honeymoon" good job, if that makes sense.
