Vegas in May! where should I play?

I was there the last week of May 2011. Monday was Memorial Day. Tuesday, the rates dropped significantly. I splurged for TPC Las Vegas, that round was $129. We got off just in time as the started aerating the greens behind us. IIRC, Paiute Wolf was approx $80 and Rio Secco $90. I suggest you start with EZLinks, but one of the LV golf websites had the best deals. Sorry, but I don't remember which one I used.

Golfnow.com always has the best deals here, bar none. You can always rent a car for the day cheaper than getting a taxi. Most hotels have rental desks so its pretty easy.

Not always so. I recently found the best deal for Bear's Best on one of the other sites, EZ Links, if I recall correctly. Beat Golf now's price by a lot. Golf Now is usually good, but it pays to check Golf Sigma, EZ LInks and others if you have the time and are looking for the very best deal.

Take a look at Tuscany. It is over in Henderson, not too far from the strip. Good layout and and was in great condition when I played it. You can't go wrong with the Pauite courses. It is a 35-45 minute ride from the strip, nice thing it is really quiet out on the course because you are about a mile from the highway. Painted Desert is also another option that doesn't cost too much. My brother plays there whenever he is in town and has always said that the course is in good condition.

I really liked Tuscany when I was in Vegas a few months ago. I tend not to like "desert" style courses, and Tuscany is more on the traditional side, by Vegas standards anyway. Rhodes Ranch was pretty good, too, although the pace of play on a Saturday was horrible. I got pretty good deals on golfnow.com, although it is hard to find a time they will let you buy as a single. Usually you have to find one where a 2 or 3-some has purchased the other spots in the group.
