I guess some of you guys haven't hit the RBZ. Threads like this are frustrating for me because we're arguing about marketing. It's always going to be there, and there will always be claims like this. The RBZ is a great club in many aspects. Sounds great, feels great, and is extremely long. It doesn't seem to be any longer than the Adams F12, but still long. There are almost always claims about more distance, but at least this year the companies are trying to justify their claims. I was very skeptical hitting the RBZ and I've never been a TM guy at all, but I mean....it goes reaaally far...

I still play an 07' Burner. Haven't hit a driver that performed better for me. Some go a little farther but sacrifice accuracy or forgiveness. The 07' Burner is the perfect combination of distance accuracy and forgiveness for me.

I know all the "hype" that goes with advertising, but when I take MY Burner 3 wood and a couple of sleeves of the balls I regulary use and hit it against the RBZ 3 wood on a monitor...and GAIN 21 yards...then go out on the course and have the SAME results...it ain't "hype" to me.

Yeah, well, the problem with that logic is that, if you've followed their marketing propaganda for the last decade or so, EVERY YEAR they claim their "new" model(s) carry 10, 15, 20 yards farther than last year's.

So by that logic, shouldn't these "new" RocketBallz 3 woods be putting it out there 350 yards or so?

Yeah, I call total BS, and since I'm not gullible (and was a college student up until last year, thus never had a load of throw away cash) I've never and will never buy into a fraudulent company like TM's BS and their line of marketing propaganda.

Is their stuff from a decade ago still some of the best that has ever been made, and better than comparable companies' stuff? Yes. Are their products today infinitely better than the stuff they were doing around the turn of the century? Absolutely NOT.

But go ahead on and buy their "new" stuff every year, and five or so years from now I'll just pick it up off the 'Bay for a fraction of the price, and still will be a single digit player.

"Fraudulent"? Pretty strong language. Every golf manufactuer makes claims regarding their products. And while you may get by very well with technology that is five years old youare mistaken if you don't think technology has improved during the last five years. You are certainly entitled to your opinion but why the hate? Now that you are out of college have you ever thought about anger management classes?

No hate. I just don't like to see people get taken advantage of, and there are so many Johns out there that think this flashy new equipment is going to magically make them a single digit over night. Ain't gonna happen.

Of course there are plenty of people with expendable income out there that just for the sake of having the "newest" will drop a grand every year. I'm a frugal (NOT cheap) person to begin with so they will never get at me. BTW, the Ping Eye2s I just picked up really kick major butt. $4.00 a piece at Goodwill. Basically I like to find good deals. I actually just got an Odyssey 1100 DFX mint at Goodwill the other day for $3.00 that I will be gaming. That is no lie.
